(Drax- Male Intact
Born 5/15/18
Healthy 7y/o , we've paid for insurance for him since he was a puppy and are willing continue to do so! (will give full details to adopter) In 7 years, he's had one episode of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which he quickly recovered from because this dog is strong as a horse! Athletic, energetic and SO FUN.
Our Reason:
We LOVE our dog, we actually have him and his literal sibling, his littermate has developed arthritis and (we already knew) dysplasia that needs to be managed and it takes most of my attention and time, just for his rehab trying to keep his quality of life. Drax, has unfortunately not taken very well to the additional attention to his sibling, also not being able to play like they used to has turned into mild harassment to the other dog. Even though we continue to take him running, to parks, to play ball and lots of stimulation, the period of time while inside our home, he is unable to ignore his sibling, leading to one of them being crated or in some occasions, full on brawls 😞
We are making this heartbreaking decision to rehome, to where he will have the majority of attention, lots of play and someone will be able to enjoy him as he is, an amazing highly driven dog, ready to learn anything you want to teach him (we invested thousands and years into his training, and you can continue to build upon this), to enjoy the outdoors, to even cuddle!
Requires experience with Shepherds, he has prey drive but respects boundaries for Cats and other dogs when asked to.
Kid friendly (has been exposed to baby and toddlers)
Crate trained, car trained. All basic commands voice (most in German) and hand gestures.)
