Let’s talk about something that still runs deep in the farrier industry.

The way donkeys—and the people who love them—are treated.

Too many farriers still see donkeys as a nuisance.

Too difficult. Not worth the time.

And owners? Treated like an inconvenience if they ask questions or try to learn.

But here’s the truth:
Donkeys aren’t the problem.
And neither are the people trying to do right by them.

The problem is an outdated culture that never took the time to understand donkeys in the first place.

A system that dismisses their needs, blames their behavior, and walks away the moment it gets inconvenient.

So when an owner does try to learn… when they invest in education, take a course, and ask for help…

They’re often met with eye rolls. Mockery. Price hikes. Or worse—radio silence.

This is exactly why I built the Donkey Hooves & Health Academy

Not just to teach trimming—but to build a donkey-first movement.

Because owners deserve real knowledge.
And donkeys deserve to be seen, understood, and treated with respect—not force.
