Between farm calls, show schedules, and full days of sessions, posting content has taken a back seat for a bit, but we are still here and actively working with horses and pets across Maryland and surrounding areas.

Many horse owners don’t realize that not all PEMF systems operate at the same intensity.

Low-intensity PEMF systems, such as blanket-style units, are commonly used for general wellness, relaxation, and microcirculation support. Some systems, such as the BEMER Horse Set, operate at relatively low intensities:
• Blanket: approximately 0.035–0.35 Gauss
• Cuff/spot applicators: up to approximately 1 Gauss

Next Stride Wellness utilizes a new (Fall 2025) MagnaWave Julian PEMF machine, a professional high-intensity system that operates in a significantly higher intensity range. The Julian is capable of delivering over ✨8,000 Gauss✨ depending on settings and attachments and was designed for high-volume practitioners, clinics, and targeted equine applications.

Osteoarthritis is a common contributor to reduced performance, stiffness, and discomfort in equine athletes over time.

A peer-reviewed article published in Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy evaluated research surrounding pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy and its effects on osteoarthritis. The article discusses evidence suggesting PEMF may help modulate inflammatory pathways associated with osteoarthritis and support joint comfort and mobility. Experimental models cited in the review also demonstrated potential protective effects on cartilage.
