One minute I’m minding my own business, living my best nap life
The next, I’m stuffed into a plastic prison that smells like fear and betrayal, while you coo, “It’s okay, sweetheart”
No, Mother, it’s not okay
You’re in on it

Excuse me?
You scream if the dentist so much as mentions a filling, yet you drag me to a man who takes my temperature in unspeakable ways
And then you pay him for it
You actually pay him!!!!

Meanwhile, when you sneeze once, you take a sick day, Google your symptoms, and order soup
When I sneeze, it’s “get the carrier, he’s dying”

So yes, I sing the song of my people all the way there
Yes, I shed enough fur to make a spare cat
Yes, I hiss at the vet wouldn’t you, if someone grabbed your bits without consent?

Until cats are granted the right to medical privacy and a say in their own appointments, I will continue my campaign of chaos
