Hey new faces! Let me reintroduce myself.

My name is Sammy. Pitbull lover, Veterinary Technician, and founder of Paka's Pitbull Rescue & Rehabilitation. A project straight from my 💛.

This rescue is named after my late grandmother, Paka. She was my best friend and biggest supporter. She believed in this crazy dream of mine endlessly. She is a big reason I made this come to life. ✨

I have spent most of my life loving, rescuing, and advocating for Pitbulls. I have seen them overlooked, judged, and thrown away. But I have also seen them heal, forgive, and thrive when given the chance.

This isn't just a brand. This is a movement to change how people see these dogs. To offer safety, love, structure, and support. To give them what the world VERY often won't.

Right now, I'm raising funds and building the foundation. Selling merchandise, sharing stories, and preparing for the day I can finally open the doors to a full facility. Every donation, every shirt sold, every post shared gets us closer.. 100%.

🤍 UPDATE: ORIGINAL OWNER FOUND! 🤍 Thank you everyone.

🚨 LOST & FOUND! SHAWNEE, OK 🚨
This sweet boy showed up on Friday evening (7/5) around 6pm on Westech Rd in the Johnson area of Shawnee, OK. He is neutered, very friendly, and seems to be well cared for, but was clearly scared during the fireworks.

He does not have tags, but he is safe and being temporarily housed by the finder. Unfortunately, she can’t keep him much longer due to issues with her own dog, so time is sensitive!!

A BIG TEDDY BEAR WITH A BIGGER HEART 🧸

After losing his person, Shorty was confused, shut down, and scared. But thanks to a loving foster, he’s found his groove and turns out, he’s just a big ol’ sweet boy with a protective streak and a heart full of love 🤎

🏡 In-and-out dog: loves to run, play, come inside, cool off, eat, and nap
🗣️ Loud bark but all love. Protective only when needed
💉 UTD on vaccinations & on heartworm prevention

Shorty is still searching for a forever home where he can be someone’s goofy best friend, cuddle buddy, and loyal protector. He loves having human companionship and just wants to be near his people.

📣 Quick Rescue Update

Hey everyone! I know it’s been a little quiet on here. Life hit pretty hard recently, and as a one-woman rescue team, I had to step back and take care of myself before I could fully pour into this work again. Thank you for being patient with me 🖤

Still looking for a lifeline for Pooka.
This sweet boy was likely used as a bait dog, his body shows it. Scarred up, dumped, and still wagging his tail like people haven’t failed him over and over again.

He’s dog-friendly. He’s gentle. And he deserves more than being passed over again and again just because he’s a pit mix with a rough past.

No rescue has stepped up yet. We’re not giving up.

Please help us get him seen.

Resharing because Willow still needs someone to show up for her.
She’s been through so much — severe neglect, abuse, and now her anxiety is pushing her into survival mode. She's not a “bad dog.” She’s just been failed too many times.

We’re trying so hard to keep her story from ending the way shelters are telling her it should — with euthanasia. She deserves better. She is better.

If you can’t foster or adopt, please at least share.
Her person is out there — they just haven’t seen her yet.

This is Willow — a beautiful 3-year-old Pitbull in Roanoke, VA who has been through unimaginable trauma. Once severely abused and neglected, she was rescued by a loving family who nursed her back to health. Despite her progress, Willow still struggles with severe anxiety, currently managed with Prozac.

Recently, she was triggered by another dog and had an incident that resulted in injury. Shelters have deemed her “unadoptable” and are recommending euthanasia. 💔 But her family refuses to give up on her — they believe she still has a chance at healing with the right environment, patience, and understanding.

Willow is loving and affectionate in a calm, safe space. She needs a rescue, experienced foster, or sanctuary willing to take on a behavioral case and give her the chance she deserves.

📢 Pitbull Myth-Busting:
MYTH: “Pitbulls are dumb and only good for fighting.”

TRUTH: Pitbulls are incredibly intelligent and deeply loyal.
They thrive when given structure, love, and mental stimulation. In fact, they often score higher on temperament tests than many “family-friendly” breeds. They’re fast learners, eager to please, and form deep bonds with their people.

Many are trained as therapy dogs, search-and-rescue dogs, agility champs, and — most importantly — loving family members.

📍 Needs rescue, foster, or safe placement ASAP

Pooka didn’t ask to be born into pain — but he’s lived it. Covered in scars, likely used for fighting, and still he was more worried about his friend than himself. When a local rescuer found him, he was bloody, limping, and bruised… but gentle. He made sure the dog she came to save was okay. That was his priority. 💔

Pooka is about 2–3 years old and weighs around 35–45 lbs. Despite everything, he showed zero reactivity to barking dogs nearby and was sweet with the Belgian shepherd who was rescued that day. He has not had vetting yet, and we are not sure how he’d do long-term in a home with other dogs — so a foster or adoptive home without other pets is preferred until he decompresses and is evaluated.

He deserves safety. Softness. A chance.
He deserves to be someone’s good luck charm. 🍀

Before Paka’s Pitbull Rescue & Rehabilitation had a name, there was my own, Buttercup and Muffin. Both misunderstood Pitbulls who changed everything for me.

This is Muffin.

She wasn’t a “project” dog. She wasn’t aggressive. She wasn’t broken. All she needed was time, patience, and someone who believed in her. Watching her blossom is one of the reasons I started this mission.

There are so many just like her — waiting in overcrowded shelters, being overlooked every day.

💚 That’s why I’m building Paka’s — to be their soft landing, their second chance.
