Our sweet Star 🌟
****grafic details****
While on the medication for an allergic reaction, she ended up getting an extremely swollen lymph node. I called the vet, but they felt I should wait and finish the medication she was on to see if it would go back down.
Walking into my dining room the next day, I saw blood on the floor.
Immediately checking Star all over, I saw her swollen lymph node had ruptured. I called the vet who got us in, right away.
While at the vet, they shaved down her neck and flushed out the rupture.
They bandaged her and sent me home with steroids as it was determined she had Puppy Strangles.
By this point, Star had 3 other extremely swollen lymph nodes.
By some miracle, the steroids started working. All her swelling in her ears, muzzle, and eye lids, along with all her lymph nodes drastically reduced!
We followed the medication doses and when we began the wean off process, Star began to swell again.
Calling the vet, she said Star would need to remain on steroids for a longer time, with a much more gradual decline off them.
However, the vet said once she gets over this hurdle, she should live a long, happy life!💕
A good family friend met Star, and told her sister about Star's story.
Her sister is a huge animal loving and said she would love to be Star's loving, forever family 🥳
With everything Star has been through, I honestly thought she would stay with us forever. But knowing how much individual love and attention she's going to receive with her new family bring us so much joy!
This afternoon we met up. Star is officially off with her new family and we couldn't be happier for her!🥰
Thank you to everyone who gave our sweet pups such awesome, new 🏡's!! And please remember, we LOVE seeing updated pictures 📸 ☺️
