While most of our retirees have been more than happy to go "feral," Victoria was not. Two years after finishing her show career, she still begged for attention regularly, especially from kids. She was not ready to fully retire and LOVES having a job. Victoria is now with the Mayes in VA to help teach the next generation of riders - and look at her go! Two years without being ridden, a kid was able to hop on her without any fuss, and she looks so happy!

Flashback to the time we thought it would be a great idea to take 6 cobs - including a mare and foal - on 2 rigs to show off the trailer at a show 2.5 hours away.

Oh wait...that was just this past weekend.

Everyone survived, and it was the largest cob class ever judged at PennMaryDel! (Unofficially)

Thank you to Isie Riley, Jordan Tsottles, Daryl Mattern, Addison Keen and Kaylin Bordenski for helping us get everyone into the ring at the same time.

About 10-15 years ago, we decided to foray into chickens, rabbits, goats and Anatolian shepherds (LGDs). As things picked up with the Welsh, we first phased out the chickens and rabbits, and now we are reaching the point where our goats and Anatolians are aging and passing on, too.

We'll spare you the details as we lose each of our "livestock" (many of which are more like pets), but Echo deserves his own accolades.

No, he wasn't a pet. He came to us as an adult and never willingly let us within 5 feet of him, but he was a fantastic LGD. Always great with the goats, the kids, chickens, cats, you name it. Losing him was sudden and unexpected, but he is at peace now, with no humans daring to try to pet him anymore :)

Rest in peace, Echo
