Save Off-Leash Dog Walking Areas in the SF Bay Area

Save Off-Leash Dog Walking Areas in the SF Bay Area The GGNRA has an extreme plan to get rid of on- and-off-leash dog areas in the SF Bay Area. Let's keep the Bay Area dog friendly! www.saveoffleash.com

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area has released a proposed rule that severely cuts or entirely bans where people with dogs have been welcomed together for decades in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo counties. The plan affects both on- and off-leash dog walking in recreation areas and trails like Fort Funston, Crissy Field, Ocean Beach, Muir Beach, Marin Headlands and Rancho Corral de Tierr

KEEP PUBLIC ACCESS TO THORNTON STATE

A squatter has fenced off the only access from Thornton State Beach bluffs to the beach, a path frequently used by hikers, horseback riders, dog walkers, families and the public.

The California coast belongs to all of us.

Sign this petition to keep public access to Thornton Beach and all California State Park beaches.

🐾 Big News!

The Commission Streamlining Task Force reversed course and voted unanimously (5–0) to recommend keeping the San Francisco Animal Control & Welfare Commission in place!

The task force acknowledged the strong public input calling to preserve the commission. The chair noted, “We received more feedback on this issue than anything else we’ve done.” (They are reviewing 130 San Francisco commissions.)

💪 Huge thanks to everyone who spoke up, wrote letters, and made your voices heard. Your advocacy made the difference! Thank you!

Send San Francisco city hall a message that the Animal Welfare Commission must be kept. There is no cost savings elmination -- commissioners do not get paid and the is no budget. The public needs a voice and influence in humane policies.

The San Francisco “Commission Streamlining Task Force” wants to eliminate the Animal Control and Welfare Commission — the only public forum for animal issues. Please tell the San Francisco task force to keep the Animal Commission.
