Good morning everyone!! I know, there’s no puppies on this post but I just wanted to talk to you guys about a few things we are going to be being more strict about… first is rabies, we want to make sure that not only your dog but the other dogs that come into our salon are in a safe environment and that means vaccinations, we need everyone to have an updated rabies in hand, unless you have an updated one on file. We really want to have a salon that everyone, including the dogs, feel comfortable coming to. Secondly, reoccurring appointments, right now we are booked out until mid to late April so when you’re leaving an appointment, go ahead and schedule another one so that it doesn’t come time for your dog to have a haircut and we can’t get you in for another 2 months. We can also book out appointments till the end of the year so if you want to sit down and find a day each month that’s best for you to bring your dog in we can book all the way to December! We are going to be making a few different changes with how we do things but those changes won’t be implemented until we are in the new shop and we will make another post letting you guys know what changes we are going to make before the move! PSA: ITS OKAY TO SHAVE DOWN YOUR DOG! Listen most of the dogs that we see are pets, not show dogs, so I’m here to tell you; it’s okay to shave it down. If you’re everyday life is too busy to sit down and brush out your dog for an hour, cut the hair off. If you and your dog like to go hiking and play in the water and that causes them to mat up, shave it short next time. If your dog like to help you on the farm and all that mud and dirt makes it hard to keep a clean dog, get rid of the hair. It’s okay to have a long hair dog and it not have long hair. I understand it’s cute when they are all fluffy and stuff but if that hair is hindering them from living their best lives, than is it worth it?

And I don’t mean shave it to the skin, I just mean, find a haircut that suits your lifestyle with your dog. Something that’s going to be comfortable and manageable for the both of you, whether that means a comb clip (long) or that means a 7 blade (short). I’ve just seen so many people try to maintain a hairstyle on their dog that they can’t maintain bc “it’s what the breed is supposed to look like” but I’m here to tell you that if that’s not feasible for you, THATS OKAY. ❤️🐶🐾

Everyone meet Opal the Shih Tzu, she's a senior dog who we hold near and dear to our hearts! She found her owners by accident but they wouldn't have it any other way! She's had a few groomers over her life time but we are most certain that Tyler is her favorite out of all of them! Not only is she a sweet girl, but she's strong as well, just had 400 stones removed from her body and she carries on as if nothing happened! She really is an amazing dog!
