TUBBY ADOPTED TODAY! The black kitten got adopted before his Russian Blue bro which isn't typical, but Tubby isn't a typical kitten either. We love our adopters who go for personality above all and Tubby has a great snuggly personality. Not that his brother, Shrimp, isn't awesome, too, but Tubby spoke to this family and now he is part of their forever family. Mom is home all day and lives with her other half, as well as three cats of all ages (fantastic pet history!). We know this precious little guy will fit right in and we couldn't be happier for him. Way to go, Tubs!❤

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Yawning SABRINA was rescued from a local kill shelter. She had come in as a stray from a rural area. She was precious and tiny and taking up an entire cage that the shelter desperately needed to FFAR grabbed her the very day she came in to open up a cage. Of course, as is not uncommon in the kittens, she also had ringworm and had to be treated for that which takes five weeks. She is now ringworm free and fully vetted and ready for her forever home. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: SHRIMP (and three littermates) were found by one of FFAR's awesome volunteers. She said this, "We found them about a month ago with no mom and found homes for two of them but we have been struggling to find homes for the last two. They are very friendly. The grey one purrs the second you pick him up and loves to nibble on your finger." FFAR now has both of these sweet boys and they are now fully vetted and ready for their forever homes. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: PERCY was rescued from a local kill shelter where he had been brought in as a stray as is typical. He was not vetted (is now, of course) and full of personality. A FFAR volunteer saw him and loving orange tabby cats and seeing how he was doing everything he could to get her attention, she made a mental note to go back after his stray-hold period was up which is exactly what happened. Percy is a love. He gets along with everyone and everything in his foster home except for one alpha male, also newly neutered, that is the aggressor. These boys have been kept separated because they scuffle, but he is fine with all the other cats and kittens, male and female. We are listing him as fine with other cats with the one exception being another alpha male, given this experience. Jarvis and Flea are doing great! Got this update from new Mom - "They seem so happy, thanks so much for allowing us to give them a furever home! Jarvis is really coming out of his shell already. He is truly the winner here. Kittens always get adopted, but the bigger ones don't always get that chance." Yes, indeed. Adults can be harder for sure than cute little kittens. Spoke with her on the phone and she also said that Flea is trying to nurse on Jarvis and he tolerates it - a true Mr. Mom. Ahhhh. Lastly, see Jarvis in the window. He is watching baby deer in the yard! What a great perch. We couldn't be happier for these two. What a score!❤

JARVIS AND FLEA ADOPTED TODAY! This one is really awesome. This couple lost an orange kitty recently. He had come down with lymphoma and they had gone above and beyond to help him - multiple surgeries and chemotherapy - but he succumbed to the lymphoma and they have missed him very much. Flea had just come to our 380 PetSmart shortly before Dad popped in and fell in love. He went home and his wife did the application and both came today to meet him outside of the cage. They have three other cats at home, but two will go to their daughter's home a mile away when she gets married in October and the other kitty is older and not very active. Jarvis and Flea were playing between the bars so they asked to meet Jarvis as well. You guessed it! They went home with both - one who had just arrived and Jarvis, who had been at the store patiently waiting for far too long. They both went home in the carrier together without any issue. Jarvis is going to keep his name, but Flea will be changing, although not sure to what just yet - perhaps Turbo? So today's adoption was doubly wonderful. A big orange and a little one - what could be better!!??❤❤❤

THADDEUS ADOPTED TODAY! This couple saw him at PetSmart and it was love at first sight. They bought the store out for this sweet boy and were so excited to add him to their family. For all CCAS folks who follow our FB, this is "Catrick Swayze" who was at the shelter for way too long and no one could figure out why he was constantly overlooked because he is a great cat and adorable with his diamond nose. We are so happy for all! ❤

Update on Lux, who was adopted by a former adopter that wanted a companion for his beloved cat. The very happy news is it has gone even better than we could have dreamed. Oscar, his older cat brother, absolutely loves Lux and they have so much fun chasing around and snuggling on the couch. Oscar has some "social anxiety" 😻 and Lux has really brought him out of his shell and added fun to his life. New Dad is absolutely thrilled, as are we ... this is such a happy ending for both cats.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: OPHELIA was rescued from a local kill shelter where her big beautiful self had been brought in by the public as a stray. She is an exceptional cat - large for a female with stunning markings and a stubby tail. A bit longer than a bobtail but definitely way shorter than a regular tail. It is unknown if this is genetic or a result of a prior injury, but it's super cute and adds to her uniqueness. Best of all is her personality. She is super affectionate and a lap cat galore. Ophelia gets along with the many cats in her foster room, although she will swat a pesky kitten out of the way if they are intruding on her lap time. Dogs are unknown but it is highly likely with slow and proper introductions she would be fine with dogs. There is a dog in her foster home so she gets the scent and barking in the next room, just hasn't met her face to face. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: THADDEUS was rescued from a local kill shelter where he had been brought in as a stray. The shelter staff loved him and after his stray hold was up, they had him vetted and he was placed up for adoption. However, as happens now and then and we never have figured out why, he did not get adopted in the shelter. A FFAR volunteer kept seeing him in his cage when she went up there and finally inquired as to what was the deal and checked him out. Staff said it was beyond them why he kept getting overlooked because he was super sweet. He came home with the FFAR volunteer that day and is now in our foster/adoption program. Thaddeus is so very sweet! He is a bit on the shy side, but that just shows he's smart because the room he is in is filled with spazzy kittens and cats of all ages. It can be very overwhelming to go from a cage in the shelter to all the chaos in his cat foster room. He does get along with everyone and almost certainly would be fine with dogs if slowly and properly introduced, although he has not been around the dog in his foster home.
