I can't say for sure that my dog Titus knew his reflection, but he would often look at himself in a mirror. If I was behind him and I made a hand gesture to him, he would turn and come to me.

For decades, scientists have tested animal intelligence by seeing if they can recognize themselves in mirrors. But how do you revamp that test for a species that relies more on smell than sight?

My dog Titus always seemed to perk up whenever he heard Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue. Was never quite sure one way or the other, but turns out maybe he did really like it.

Does your dog need to relax? Maybe Fido just needs to hear some Bob Marley or Air Supply.

I really like the idea of "smart" feeders and know several clients that would like to use one, but this looks like a horrible design. Requires an internet connection to dispense food and can only be accessed via an iPhone. Not Android or even the web.

I am currently working with a local law firm to implement a dog friendly office.

We'd all rather work with our dogs, wouldn't we? More employers are allowing pets on the job, although sometimes that entails navigating a different kind of office politics.
