Fergus came to us 3 weeks ago because he was resource guarding his previous foster parent and didn’t get along with their resident dogs. We also noticed he was developing fear-based reactivity towards other dogs.

Easy peasy fix 😂. We used the extra time to teach him how to play and got him started on basic commands. Kiddo is ready for his new adoptive home!

During her free time, Wumi happened to cross yesterday’s track. She instantly locked onto the footsteps and started following it.

Got a powerful, energetic dog? Don’t think you have the energy to play with him? Teach him a game of fetch. Slowly raise the requirements to return the toy to your hand. Then sit back and let him do all the leg work. You just have to use your arm and throw it.

Our foster dog, Pepa, was adopted by a lovely family yesterday. Pepa warmed up to them right away and even played ball with their little girl. She was sweet with the adults and gentle with the kiddo. Go Pepa ❤️

We let our foster dog decompress for a week or so. During this time we earn her trust by having predictable outcomes in daily routines. This gives her a sense of safety. When a little confidence comes out of that shell, we can start training.

We’ve been fostering Pepa for the last two weeks. She’s learning to trust and cooperate through structured games like TWC Chase and Catch.

5+ minutes of possession game with Huya. It can be a quiet game of strategy. You can see she is very possessive. The game teaches her the only way to “win” is to share. This opens up the concept of cooperation and all the benefit that comes with it.
