Nervous pup? Private lessons can make all the difference! 💪🐾

Meet Roxy, a sweet 7-month-old Bernedoodle who came to WAGD a little shaken after being attacked by another dog. She wasn’t quite ready for the group class environment—but that didn’t mean her training journey had to pause.

✨ Enter WAGD Senior Trainer Adrian!
With just a couple of focused in-facility sessions and an in-home follow-up, Adrian helped Roxy (and her amazing humans) rebuild trust, confidence, and calm around other dogs.

Thanks to consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love, Roxy is now not just okay around other pups—she’s curious and excited to meet them! 🐶💛

She’s heading into her next Class Readiness Evaluation with her tail high and a heart full of confidence—and we’re cheering her on every step of the way!

Our Story

What a Great Dog! started in 2006 by founder, Maureen Patin CPDT-KA. In 2010, WAGD moved to a 3,400 sq ft facility in Prosper. In the fall of 2012, WAGD upgraded with the move to our big facility in Frisco. In January 2017, the fun doubled when the second big location in Richardson opened. Kenna Sloan and Sharon Lacaze also became business partners of What a Great Dog! Most recently, in 2019 WAGD took on another 6,200 sq ft near the RIchardson facility. Dubbed R2, this space houses Barn Hunt, Nose Work and special events. Both locations are state of the art large (16,000 sq ft) indoor dog training facilities. We offer both group classes and private sessions for Pet Manners, Agility, Therapy Dog, Rally, Competitive Obedience, Tricks and more! Come join the fun!
