Hi! I'm Ridley! ✨

I am the social butterfly here at Operation Kindness. Whether they're humans or four-legged companions, I'm always down to play! I've had roommates and tons of doggie buddies, showing how great I am with others. Tag, wrestling, a romp in the yard, whatever the game may be, I am always down for it. I would love a new home with a canine sibling, as a built-in best friend sounds like heaven to me!

The fastest way to my heart is through a good old-fashioned tennis ball. My eyes light up, and my face breaks out in the biggest smile as soon as I lay my eyes on one. Though playtime is my favorite, nothing beats a good cuddle session after running around outside.

If you're ready to add a tennis ball-obsessed, sweet best friend to your life, I'm your girl!

I'm spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and ready for adoption. Come meet me today! 💗

If you have a barn, stable, brewery, warehouse, plant nursery, etc. you can help save a cat!

While the majority of cats can easily live as indoor house pets, sometimes we have cats who prefer to live as a working cat. Cats in our Barn Cat Program fall into one of these categories:
•Under socialized cats that prefer the company of other cats/animals over people.
•Feisty cats that are on a mission to hunt and when kept as indoor cats tend to bite or scratch.
•Cats whose litter box habits make them unable to live in the house successfully.
•Cats who were outdoor cats prior to surrender and cannot acclimate to an indoor home.
*Please note that we do not adopt indoor house cats who are suitable to be household companions into barns, warehouses, etc.. YOU MAY NEVER BE ABLE TO TOUCH YOUR BARN CAT

Adopting a working cat can help you control a rodent population while also making a great companion! If you are looking for a barn cat, they may also provide companionship for your barn animals. If you do not have other barn cats, you may want to consider adopting a pair through our program!

What we provide
When you adopt a cat through our Barn Cat Program, the cat will be:
•Spayed or neutered
•Up-to-date on vaccinations and testing for common feline diseases
•Ear notched (a form of identification)
We will review guidelines to help you acclimate your cat to your environment in a safe manner.

What you provide
•Shelter in a warehouse, barn, outbuilding, or stable, away from high traffic streets
•Daily food and water
•Long-term veterinary care, as needed
•A secure place to keep the cat for the first 1-2 weeks, while the cat acclimates to its new environment. This can be a tack room or an indoor enclosure that they cannot escape from.

Things to consider
Adopting a cat through the CCAS Barn Cat program can help save the life of a cat who may not have other options. However, the care of a working cat is still an important responsibility. You will be assuming care for the cat for its lifetime, which may be as much as 15 or 20 years. In exchange for providing the essentials of food & water, medical care, and shelter, your working cat will earn its keep by helping to control the rodent problem in your building!

Our Barn Cat program would greatly appreciate donation to our spay/neuter fund to help other cats and dogs at the shelter!

We recently had the pleasure to petsit for a loving trio of cockapoos in Plano! The earliest of what has become known as designer dogs, cockapoos were first created by accident in the United States in the 1960s. Impressed by the sweet and intelligent nature of the puppies combined with their odorless, low-shed coat, enthusiasts began intentionally crossing poodles with cocker spaniels in an attempt to recreate these results. This crossbreed has only gained popularity over the decades. These Cockapoos were very friendly and affectionate little comedians with a sweet temperament and a zest for life. They are a cross between the American cocker spaniel and the poodle.
