With this “wintry mix” coming in this weekend, I wanted to send a quick reminder — if there’s ice on the roads, I won’t be able to pull my grooming trailer safely.

This may apply even if conditions seem fine at your home, as I travel between multiple areas and some of the roads I’d need to be on may be unsafe. I also need to take extra precautions during freezing weather to protect the trailer and prevent pipes from freezing or bursting so I can continue to safely service your pups.

That means:
• Appointments may need to be rescheduled
• I’ll always reach out as soon as possible
• Safety comes first for everyone involved

I hate moving appointments, but icy roads + a heavy trailer = not a good mix. Thank you all so much for understanding and being so supportive!

Hi everyone! You and your puppies make my business day fun! 2023 had a few challenges with the Ford dealership, but once I got into the new custom built Trailer and got the summer AC issues worked out, it's been smooth sailing! 2024 promises to be exciting and I can't wait to see what the year bring us all!

Day 17 of Check Engine light and DEF Light: dealership has finally fixed the issues and I am on my way to pick it up tonight!!!

Fingers crossed there's no plumbing damage from last weeks freeze. I'll be checking it all out as soon as I get home.

If that is good to go, then I'll be texting everyone to reschedule their missed appt's tonight and I'll be back at work in the morning!!!!!!

I talked to the guys at the dealership yesterday afternoon. They finally have the part and will make the repair on Monday morning. Hopefully this clears the code and fixes the DEF system. If so, I'll be able to pick it up in the late afternoon after they do their tests.

After picking up the van I will check all the water lines to make sure there isn't any damage from the freeze and then I'll start reaching out to everyone to reschedule. I am very hopeful I will be back in business right away.

The part they need to repair the DEF system is supposed to be here by Friday and then the actual repair work can begin. I am unaware if the weather is causing any delays to that schedule, whether it be the part delivery or the service department - if they are even open right now.

If the original timeline remains (and doesn't grow into more days), I will have 40 dogs to schedule into the next couple weeks. If you are one of these pups that have been displaced by the van breakdown, please accept my apologies and know that I will do my absolute best to get you back asap!

If there are any additional delays I will be in touch with those of you newly affected by this van-drama individually. I really hope that doesn't happen.

To all my clients that I've had to reschedule this week: please accept my sincere apologies!!!

My practically new van threw a couple dash lights (DEF system and Check Engine) on Friday and has been at Bob Tomes Ford service center since Friday late afternoon. At drop off I was told 3-4 days to diagnose.

At this point (5 work days later) I have left 2 messages to check on its status and they have still not responded at all. The poor communication from the Service Advisors is my biggest complaint.

I'm anxious to get back on the road and start making up all your missed appointments. I will text everyone as soon as I hear from them and have an legitimate timeline to work with.

When I bought this van brand new in 2019 I was excited to eliminate service issues that my old van was having. At only 3 years old I'm having new, and much worse, trouble with this one, add in the dealership timeline issues. Its very frustrating.

I DO have a new plan: 2 weeks ago I put a deposit on a brand new custom trailer that I will be able to pull with either of my personal vehicles. In the event one of them needs service, I'll be able to use the other and not disrupt our appointments. Only downside it that it'll take a couple more months to build. I'm excited about it, though.

I had an accident early this week. I have amnesia and don't remember but I appear to have hit the breaks and lost control, flipping past the handlebars and landing face first into the street. I have a major gash from eyebrow to hairline that was stitched up but has not yet healed. I am still very tired, swollen, and bruised.

I am taking it day by day but will be reaching out individually if your appointment needs to be rescheduled. At this time I do not know how quickly I will be back at work.
