Legacy Humane Society We are a 501c3 rescue group in the N. Texas area, committed to helping dogs find loving homes. To provide medical treatment for all animals in our care.

Our Purpose:
To rescue adoptable dogs and puppies from animal shelters and animal control facilities. To rescue dogs and puppies from abusive and neglectful situations, including puppy mills and "backyard breeders". To help educate the public on proper animal care and promote spaying and neutering of all pets. To provide foster homes for all animals in our care. To place rescued animals in permanent, loving homes.

After spending several months in a city shelter, Vincent got his second chance when a foster family stepped up to save him. Now he's thriving in foster care and patiently waiting for a forever family to discover just how incredible he is.

Shrimp is a 2 year old Shiba Inu mix weighing 38 pounds who has already spent time in a city shelter before being rescued into foster care. Now he's safe, loved, and waiting for the one thing he still doesn't have:

Meet Dewey, a 5-year-old Chihuahua/Russian Toy Terrier mix with the sweetest soul you could ever hope to meet.

When Dewey arrived at the shelter, he was severely underweight and clearly hadn't been receiving the care he deserved. Despite everything he had been through, this little guy never stopped trusting people.

Today, thanks to a dedicated foster home, veterinary care, and lots of love, Dewey is gaining weight, getting stronger, and showing everyone just how special he truly is.

Just look at that face. ❤️

Meet Mindy, a 6 month old Shepherd/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is proof that a little love can change everything.

When Mindy first entered a shelter, she was scared, skinny, and shut down. Her foster mom couldn't bear to leave her behind and welcomed her into the Legacy Humane Society family. Since then, Mindy has blossomed into the happiest little puppy.
