Hooves to Halter Equine Bodywork, LLC. Equine Sports Massage Therapy Hello! My name is Sophia Pohlen. I started Hooves to Halter because I love horses, and I want to help them and their owners.

I am the child of a farmer's son and a pastor's daughter. I was raised in the suburbs of North Texas, and though we could not afford a horse, I have loved them all my life. I used to muck out stalls for riding lessons, and I would read every horse book I could get my hands on. I worked at several barns through college at Texas A&M, and interned in the Equine Division at their Large Animal Hospital

. After getting my Bachelor of Science with the Equine Certification, I became an Equine Veterinary Technician for several years at Elgin Vet hospital outside Austin. Eventually I moved back to north Texas to be closer to family. I worked as a small animal technician for a while, but was craving to get back to working with horses. One evening I was reading about Equine Therapeutic Sports Massage, and found out about Equissage Texas. As a child, both my parents had chronic back pain from old injuries. I was always the one to give a "back rub," and everyone thought I had a knack for massage. Why not combine that with my love for horses? I completed training for Equissage in September 2022, and created Hooves to Halter. I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you and your amazing horses!
