Mo was brought into MedVet Vancouver looking unwell, and our team swiftly got to work.

Dr. Aren VanLishout examined Mo and confirmed a foreign body inside of Mo with radiographs. From there, he was transferred to Dr. Shana Wilde, from our Emergency Mentorship Program, and Dr. Emily Sachs, who performed an endoscopy.

Dr. Chelsea Lemmon from Internal Medicine provided support during the endoscopy, and Dr. Julie Smith from Anesthesia made sure Mo was relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. Dr. Andreas Bachelez, from our Surgery team, was also on standby in case Mo needed surgery. Thankfully, he didn't!

Thanks to this incredible collaboration across specialties, Mo is on the mend—and we’re all cheering him on! 💙

Doctors from WestVet Boise and WestVet Meridian spent the afternoon with students in the STEM program at St. Ignatius School to share insights into the veterinary profession and lead hands-on learning experiences.

From CPR and physical exams to surgery and bandaging techniques, students got a real-world look at what it takes to care for animals across many species. This is the third year WestVet has participated in this event, and it continues to be a highlight for everyone involved.

A big thank you to Dr. Curtis Brandt, Dr. Kate Spies, and Dr. Casey Leonard (and her dog Cody!) for bringing their expertise, energy, and heart to this educational experience.

We're honored to support our community partners, like the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, in caring for incredible animals.

When their beloved cheetah, Kris, experienced a sudden injury, the zoo team turned to MedVet Cincinnati for advanced imaging to help with diagnosis. Our MRI revealed a spinal injury, allowing her care team to begin a recovery plan without surgery.

We're wishing Kris a smooth and speedy recovery!

Remi gave her family quite a scare after she was found chewing on something in the yard and began experiencing tremors. Her condition worsened quickly, and she was brought to MedVet Toledo for Emergency care.

Dr. Barb Buford and her team sprang into action, providing the treatment Remi needed—including muscle relaxers and lipid therapy. Thanks to Remi’s family acting quickly to get her to MedVet’s ER, Remi made a full recovery! 💪

She even came back for a visit to show off just how happy, healthy, and very treat-motivated she is. 💙

When your stomach does a full twist… but you’re still the goodest boy.

Meet Moose, a lovable 7-year-old Labradoodle who wasn’t quite himself — and for good reason. He came to MedVet Lexington and was quickly diagnosed with GDV (Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus), a serious condition where the stomach fills with gas and literally flips.

Thankfully, our expert Emergency team didn’t miss a beat. Moose was in and out of surgery like a champ and back home the very next day, ready to return to belly rubs (not belly twists).

We’re so happy to see you back on your paws, Moose!

When Dozer wasn’t feeling his best, his family brought him to MedVet Hilliard, where our Emergency Medicine doctor, Dr. Jamie Constantino, quickly diagnosed a small intestinal obstruction.

Thanks to the seamless collaboration between Dr. Constantino and Dr. Danny Sack, who performed surgery, Dozer received the expert, specialized care he needed.

We’re happy to share that Dozer did great during his stay and is now back home recovering with his sibling, Tank.

When Winston sustained wounds during an unfortunate dog fight, his pet family brought him to the ER at MedVet Dallas for evaluation. Dr. Maria Davila observed necrotic tissue (degrading tissue that can no longer function normally) on Winston’s front left limb, as well as multiple lacerations on his skull.

Hospitalization was recommended along with treatment by Dr. Betzaida Acevedo from MedVet's surgery team. As part of his treatment plan, Winston underwent an initial surgery to amputate his left front limb due to its extensive damage. Shortly after, Dr. Acevedo performed a surgical wound debridement (a procedure that removes dead or unhealthy tissue from a wound to help it heal) on Winston's head wounds. After a few days of hospitalization, Winston's recovery continued in the comfort of his home.

After two months of recheck visits with Dr. Acevedo that included a revision surgery and weekly bandage changes for a month, we're happy to share that Winston has made a full recovery and is back to enjoying life with his loving family 👏
