Adopt a Barn Cat won’t have another big feral spay day till late June so I strongly urge feral caregivers to take advantage of this day over in Tool. They will accept feral and community cats that arrive in traps without an appointment. Get those kitties spayed/neutered or YOU WILL be dealing with a litter of kittens soon.

Dehart Veterinary Services is coming to the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake for a Wellness and Shot Clinic on Wednesday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – and no appointment is needed for vaccinations and other wellness services!

This event is open to the public – everyone is welcome!

Services include:
- Vaccinations
- Heartworm testing
- Flea/tick prevention
- Microchipping
- And more!

Appointments ARE required for spay/neuter surgeries, which can be scheduled online.

MEGA FELINE SPAY DAY

Saturday, April 5, 2025, Adopt a Barn Cat, All About Fixin and Friends of the Animals are hosting our next Mega Spay Day for Community and Feral Cats.

Kitten season is already ramping up so please don't let there be ANY reason why you can't get the kitties in your neighborhood spayed/neutered.

$50 covers the cost for Spay/Neuter Surgery, rabies vaccination, ear tip, and pain meds. Additional charges for female cats in heat ($10) or pregnant ($20) or cryptorchid males ($20) will be applied. We have some sponsorships available based on need and colony size.

Each cat must arrive in a humane trap. One cat per trap. We have traps to loan.

Surgeries are performed at Friends of the Animals located at 122 Old Gun Barrel Lane, Suite 8, Gun Barrel City, TX 75156.

Appointments are required. We will take appointments for 75 cats. You can message us through Facebook to schedule an appointment.

Arrival times will be scheduled between 5:30am and 8:30. Cats will be ready to go home once they're awake - generally between 11am and 2:00pm

So many caretakers and volunteers made the time and effort necessary to be the one to make the lives of these outdoor stray and feral community cats better. Today we rest and this week these kitties recover before going back to their colonies. Tomorrow, we get started planning for our next mega spay/neuter day on April 5th.

We are staring down the barrel of kitten season so please don't let there be ANY reason why you can't get the kitties in your neighborhood spayed/neutered. Two generous donors are making it so that EVERYONE can afford to help.

Seriously???? Went to Vernon’s last night. 2:30am I hear kitten crying coming from the garage. After 3 hours of trying to coax our little hitchhiker out of the undercarriage of our car, I finally learned how to remove the liner from the frunk. I guess this one will be named Verna June. Please people - if you feed them please get them trapped and fixed!

We took 10 kitties to Burleson yesterday for spay/neuter. This was just the warm up act for our 100 cat spay/neuter day Saturday. Keep our kitties, trappers, volunteers, and vet in your thoughts and prayers. It’s exhausting and so very worthwhile.
