I’ve always had a deep love for animals—it's a bit cliché, but it’s true! Growing up, we had cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and gerbils. As a kid, I dreamed of being a veterinarian. I finally got my own dog, Smores (a whippet/bully mix), in 2019, and she’s taught me so much about dog care. Around the same time, I began working at a dog training company and saw firsthand how strong the bond is between owners and their pets.
After a few years, I decided to follow my dream and became a veterinary technician, working in an amazing clinic for almost four years. I learned so much about animal care, administering medications, and handling emergencies, but eventually, I made the tough decision to leave the field. That’s when I decided to open Barking Above The Rest.
At Barking Above The Rest, I’m dedicated to providing professional care at an affordable price. My services include boarding, grooming, dog walking, and a new board-and-train program. I have 3.5 years of grooming experience and 4 years as a veterinary technician, which means I can handle a variety of situations. I’ve worked with neonates, seniors, and special needs animals, and I’ve been training dogs since 2019, learning how to work with dogs of all temperaments.
