It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved namesake, Jack - the neighborhood "old man" crossed over the rainbow bridge on Sunday morning. Our hearts are broken but we know that he is free from being blind, deaf and having doggy dementia. He is running free in heaven with all of his camper friends, as well as his besties like Harvey Dog, Shelton, Toby, Fenway and Odie Spunkmeyer Quinn who have crossed over before him.
Jack was his own man - as everyone in the neighborhood knew. In his younger years, he would carry his "doggie" with him on his leashless walks. Often waiting for Grammy at the corner. If Grammy stopped to chit chat with neighbors a bit longer than Jack would like, he would walk himself back home - waiting on his pillow in the driveway. He loved to sit on his pillow in the driveway and watch the neighbors go by. He was truly a gift from God - our little Jack, Jack-a-rooney, Jackie Draper, Jack Roone', Rooney Tunes.
We are so grateful for the 13 years that we had with Jack and he will be missed by many who got the chance to meet and love him. We know it will take a long time for us to go through the grieving process - but we find comfort in knowing he is pain free and with all of his friends in heaven.
