A lot of people think all merles or red and whites are the same, but there is actually a huge difference in richness, depth and overall vibrancy of Bernedoodles.
When you compare different levels of color intensity, here is exactly what makes certain dogs stand out:
1. The Base Contrast: Instead of a softer black or muddy coloring, a high-intensity coat features deep jet black genetics and sharp contrast.
2. The Points: Rather than lighter tan points, a vibrant coat displays very deep, rich tan points that cleanly frame the puppy’s features.
3. The Merle Mapping: The same rules apply to merles. Some patterns can look muted or blended, while high-intensity merles are bold, dramatic, and high contrast.
