Hey everyone this is Adrian with Zen Paw. I wanted to reach out to our community to ask for your help.

My colleague and great friend Nina from has been having an extremely tough end of the year. She is someone who goes above and beyond for dogs. Advocating for them and doing anything she can to help save them and educate the community how to be a better partner to them. She recently had a really bad outbreak of the canine flu causing all the dogs with her to get extremely ill. She has been battling with them feeling lethargic, puking, hacking, running very high fevers. Taking multiple to the regular vet and several to the emergency vet. She also runs a rescue so she’s dealing with her dogs and the rescue dogs which is over 10 pups. She’s taking their temps constantly giving them fluids to help with the fevers. Spending 2+ hours giving steam baths for everyone to try to help ease them. She’s doing all of this on her own while also having Covid which is preventing her from working as well. This is something where one moment the dogs are making a turnaround and the next they are back where they were at or a bit worse. It looks like they are getting better then she’s having to take another dog to the emergency vet. Another mutual friend/colleague created a gofundme to help with cost because it just keeps racking up and they need every bit of help we can give. The goal had been reached but unfortunately with how things have been going, the cost is or already has past that. So if you can please donate to help her fight this off and help those pups. On of the benefits of having structure with your dogs is being able to take your dogs anywhere. Took my pack to the vet to get shots. While so many dogs were being reactive to people or other dogs these guys were just chillin for their turn. 🙂

We have been working on Leo’s confidence. He didn’t really understand how to use his back legs to jump plus was unsure about this table and the benches since he could see through them. He was uncomfortable at first but after putting in some work with him here he is chilling like a champ cause it’s too easy for him now 😂

Really proud of this little guy! 6months old and doing place work like a boss! Rooster in front of him a neighbor behind in view doing yard work and neighbors beside him working on a fence. It can be tough for any pup to work on impulse control but Leo did awesome!

This is Leo our current board and train. He gets pretty excited when it’s time to eat so to slow him down you will see us claiming the food as ours so he understands just because we put it down doesn’t mean he can eat it. We get him using his brain to slow him down and question if he can have it yet. Eventually instead of going towards the bowl he gives space to what we are claiming as our and lays next to it. Once he holds eye contact with us asking for permission we then allow him to eat. But only when we decide to allow him. This is good practice for those dogs that inhale their food or those dogs that use a slow feeder.
