Rosie is greener than green grass — and that’s exactly what we want.

No odor imprinting. No formal detection training. No complicated setup.

We simply threw her ball deep into tall grass and let her work.

At this stage, we’re not evaluating a finished detection dog. We’re looking at the raw ingredients: hunt drive, persistence, independence, problem solving, and the willingness to keep searching when the reward isn’t immediately available.

Training can build the picture. Genetics give you something worth building on.

Rosie (Novah BRN 54874 × Boef BRN 49589, KNPV Police Dog I (PH1), 401 with honors) is one of our young dogs — a 9 month old Belgian Malinois and is currently pending sale.

A protection dog isn’t meant to replace your firearm.

It isn’t meant to replace pepper spray.

And it certainly doesn’t replace situational awareness.

It’s simply another layer of protection—one that can detect, deter, and, if absolutely necessary, intervene before I ever have to rely on another tool.

A Tampa non-profit organization has stepped in to cover all medical expenses for a Polk County Sheriff's Office dog who had his leg amputated after being shot in the line of duty last week. More Below 🔗⬇️

Rest in Peace K9 Floki.

For those of you who are hearing this for the first time— K9 Floki was killed in the line of duty while serving with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Following his loss, MS DOC was left with an incredibly difficult role to fill.

Through the Stanton K9 Fallen K9 Grant, MS DOC was able to secure funding for the purchase of our Reaper, who was selected to help carry on that mission.

Reaper has been doing exceptionally well with MS DOC, and we’re always grateful to receive updates and watch him continue to grow in his role.

Floki’s service and sacrifice will not be forgotten. We’re proud that Reaper has the opportunity to serve the department and community that Floki gave his life protecting.

Yesterday, Thursday, August 7, 2026, TGH Aeromed had the incredible honor and profound privilege of caring for and transporting Polk County Sheriff’s Office K9 Ace after he was injured in the line of duty.

When weather conditions prevented our aircraft from safely responding to the scene, K9 Ace was transported by Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies to Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic, where the outstanding veterinary team provided lifesaving stabilization. Once weather conditions improved, TGH Aeromed launched to Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic and flew K9 Ace to Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch, where he was placed into the expert care of Dr. Devon Diaz.

In December 2023, Donny Richardson’s vision became reality when TGH Aeromed launched our K9 Care and Transport Program after our flight crews completed specialized training to care for injured law enforcement K9s. It was a program we built with the hope that we would rarely, if ever, be called upon. Thursday, that preparation became purpose.

We are deeply humbled to have played a role in K9 Ace’s journey. While we are incredibly proud of our team’s ability to provide advanced critical care and transport for our four legged heroes, we were only one small part of a much larger effort. Law enforcement officers, first responders, deputies, emergency veterinary professionals, dispatchers, our aviation team, and specialty care providers all came together with one shared mission: giving K9 Ace every possible chance at survival and recovery.

Our law enforcement K9s willingly run toward danger to protect our communities. They serve beside their handlers with unwavering loyalty, courage, and heart. They are more than working dogs. They are partners, family, and heroes.

Thursday reminded us exactly why this program exists. It reminded us why we train, why we prepare, and why we remain committed to ensuring these incredible animals have access to advanced critical care transport when every minute matters.

To everyone who played a role in K9 Ace’s care yesterday, thank you. We are honored to have stood beside you.

K9 Ace, your courage has inspired us all. We continue to stand with your handler, your family, and every agency involved as you fight toward recovery.
