This is a special one I made for my granddaughter to put in her new office. For the sun I used a special rare shell which I believe is called Sunflower Sea Star to which I applied a little bit of yellow acrylic paint. The palm tree is a cut out that has shells and micro glass. And of course my favorite….a turtle. Crushed glass and crushed shell background on an 8” x 10” distressed frame finished with the magic of resin. All of the embellishments I used can be found at Deep South Shelling.

If you were wondering how actual white sand from the beach reacts to resin, the answer is “not good”. I tested beach sand versus quartz sand (from Amazon) on a small piece of natural wood. The black line is what once was white sand. lol! The quartz sand works pretty good but it would be even better with a taupe painted under it, or maybe a thicker application of the quartz. The next test will be with the taupe painted and crushed shell mixed with the quartz sand……
