Animal Rescue of Crosby County

Animal Rescue of Crosby County Not all homes should have a dog, but all dogs should have a home! ARCC was founded in January 2015 by a group of concerned and determined citizens.

This caring group of people came together from Lorenzo, Ralls, and Crosbyton with various backgrounds, personalities, and views, but all with the same common goal; to make a difference in the lives of the high number of discarded, neglected and unwanted pets in Crosby County. We are an all-volunteer program. We received our nonprofit 501(c)(3) status on April 28, 2015, and in early May 2015 we rec

eived a generous donation of land from friends of the rescue, Jim and Mary Parkhill. All positions held are volunteers that give their time and talents to promote our mission. As of April 2023, we have 4 volunteers caring for approximately 95 dogs. All stray and owner surrender intakes are held for the Texas mandated 72 hour surrender/stray hold before we provide any vetting (unless the dog has an emergency injury) or post the dog available for adoption. Stray intakes are held for an additional 7 days before they are posted available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $200 and covers the following;
*Heartworm/Tickborne Disease bloodwork
*Treatment and Medication if needed for Tickborne Disease
*Spay/Neuter
*Rabies vaccination
*DAPP vaccination (Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus/Parainfluenza)
*Bordetella vaccination
*ProHeart6 or ProHeart12 Heartworm preventative vaccination
*Microchip

❤️ Why your updates mean everything to us, yes, even the sad ones. ❤️

When we send a dog off to their forever home, a little piece of our hearts goes with them. We pour so much love, time, and hope into every rescue, but the story doesn’t end at adoption. That’s where you, the adopters, come in.

Your updates are our fuel. They remind us why we do this work, especially on the hard days when we’re caring for the next wave of dogs in need. Seeing “our” dogs thriving, happy, and loved is what keeps us going.

Take Juniper, aka June Bug 💕

Adopted in 2016, this sweet girl is still going strong nearly 10 years later! Yesterday, her Aunt shared that June Bug is still living her best life, camping at the lake, chasing armadillos, and staying on high alert for those sneaky squirrels.

This is what every rescue dog deserves: a life full of joy, adventure, and family. And we get to experience that joy right alongside you through your photos and stories.

So if you’ve adopted from us, whether it was last month or ten years ago, please feel free to message us an update! Drop a photo, a quick story, or even a silly video. It truly makes our day and keeps our rescue mission strong.

Thank you for being the reason these dogs get their happy endings. We couldn’t do this without you. 🐾

🙏🏻🐾♥️Tonight we send out our sincerest condolences to Courteney & Kasey for the loss of their beautiful girl, Zia.

Zia started life at ARCC as Ruthie, abandoned at the same house where our Rose came from. From what we could tell, her early years were hard, and she didn’t know what love felt like. But in 2018, Kasey and Courteney changed all that when they adopted her through ARCC. They gave her a real home, a new name, and the kind of love she deserved. Sadly, Zia passed away a couple of months ago from Hemangiosarcoma.

Thank you both, from the bottom of our hearts, for taking her in and giving her such a good life. You rescued her in every way that matters.

Zia girl, you were so strong and sweet. We’re grateful you finally got to feel safe and loved. Thank you for showing us what strength and resilience look like in a red coat and bright eyes. Rest easy, pretty girl. You’ll always have a piece of our hearts.♥️🐾🙏🏻

📣‼️🐾 **COURTESY POST – URGENT HELP NEEDED** 🐾‼️📣

This sweet brown Mama dog (already spayed by Animal Rescue Friends of Floydada) and her three precious puppies showed up at a home in Roaring Springs, Texas several months ago. They were very likely dumped and are now depending on the kindness of a homeowner who has been caring for them as best they can.

Mama is gentle and loving, and her babies are growing into playful, adorable little ones who deserve a real chance at happy lives. Right now they have a temporary roof over their heads, but they need forever homes or a rescue to step up before time runs out.

💔 Our rescue is completely full and our intake is closed, the only way we can help this little family is by getting their story out there.

We are urgently seeking:
- A rescue willing to pull/tag them
- Adopters
- Anyone who can help network and share

These dogs did nothing wrong except get thrown away. They deserve safety, love, and a future instead of uncertainty on the streets.

If you can adopt, or know a rescue that can help, please message right away and we will get you in touch with the homeowner. Serious inquiries only, these babies need to move forward fast.

Share this post far and wide, one share could change their lives!

🙏 Thank you for caring and for helping us save this little family.

📣‼️ Crosbyton!! We received this message about 30 minutes ago but just saw it. If this is your dog, please go get it!!

Would you mind posting this? There is a limping, medium sized older dog in the field across from my house to the east. He’s dark blonde to light brown. He would not come to me. He ducked into the area where the horses are kept by us. County Road 205 in Crosbyton.
