Hopefully your day has been as relaxing for you as it has been for Willie & Waylon, chilling in their lawn chairs by the river. (At least until the mean vet showed up and made them get up for their exams).

We recommend having pet goats examined twice a year! In addition to an overall health exam we will trim hooves, evaluate their Famacha score, and give any vaccines that are due. Call or text to get on our schedule!

We had the cutest little cowboy helping us chute-side today! Gotta start em young!
And arriving in John Wayne pants? This boy is going places.

Recently Dr. Shanks saw something while ultrasounding that made her pause for a video!

Can anyone see what is unique about this pregnancy scan? Post your guess below!

This was in a middle aged charolais-cross cow.

Look out world, here we come! Our portable hydraulic cattle chute finally arrived! Some of you may have heard that it's been a bit of a journey getting the correct chute delivered, but it's finally here. This chute is perfect for anyone who is using a portable catch corral in a pasture, doesn't have a chute of their own, or maybe theirs isn't in the *ideal* working conditions (we've all been there). We can back our chute up to any existing alley or chute as long as there's room in front to back in and unhook. The chute is ran off an electric motor so no power supply is required.

If you're planning to work cattle this fall, now it's the time to be planning for it! Our fall schedule is starting to fill up, especially Saturdays. So call soon to get on the schedule! And even if you don't need us, be sure to wave if you see us heading down the road! 👋

🔎 From the recent case files:

Meet Beth! We performed an exam on Beth this summer after she was over due for her calving date and was showing no signs of starting the birthing process on her own. (She was named after Beth Dutton, and apparently like her namesake, she was being stubborn!) So after an exam, Dr. Shanks decided to induce her and about 30 hours later she gave birth to this cute little guy! Both mom and baby are doing well several weeks later.

📷 Check the last picture...that's Beth's owner Gabe helping during the preg check on Beth this spring.

Last night wrapped up this year's Cherokee County Fair with the livestock premium auction. Legacy Trails Vet was able to buy the premium on Miss Abi Hall and her market hog, and provide ad-ons for several other clients. Abi is a very involved young 4Her who participates in several projects, competes on judging teams, and gives back to the community. She is a young lady who is always around to help, constantly smiling, and has a bright future ahead of her.

Congrats to Abi and all the other 4Hers and FFA members on a successful fair season. And thank you to all the businesses and individuals who helped support these young people at last nights premium auction.

This week was the week of the horse! Castrations, floats, vaccinations & coggins!

This pretty roan boy and his brother were 2 of our patients who got promoted from stud cult to gelding! They both took a nice little nap in the grass and now they can focus on their careers instead of dating life.

Wow!!! I can't believe it's been 2 months since we officially opened! All of you amazing clients have kept us so busy I haven't even had time to post on here. So here is a quick update on the practice!

April & May were filled with lots of cattle, horses, & rain! Buckets and buckets of rain! This meant lots of rescheduling... I'm so thankful for understanding clients!

And as for clients.... I've been able to work with some great old friends and new ones! I'm looking forward to meeting even more of you in the future.

No joking... we're officially OPEN!
