ᑭIᑕ Oᖴ TᕼE ᗪᗩY - rainbow over the snake (GTTSR)

If you asked me about my photography style I might say, "opportunistic", 😆. When you're traveling with kids and everyone is hungry, bored, and carsick (or otherwise just being crazy), there's really no time to stop and stage a shot or hunt for that perfect angle. Sometimes you just have to pull over in a random pull out, point and shoot, and come back later to see if you caught that beautiful rainbow that magically appeared. Thankfully I have a great "driver" who puts me in the best places - even in the rain and traffic on Going to the Sun Road!

ⓕⓞⓡ ⓣⓗⓔ ⓑⓘⓡⓓⓢ - eaglet (approx 2-3 years old?)

Back in the day, I had a photography teacher critique a photo of a puffin that I was really proud of. He said, and I quote, "nice photo, but it doesn't look very puffin-like". The class laughed and I was floored. How does a puffin not look like a puffin? I concluded later that my puffin must have had too much personality for his liking? I guess? Well, he probably wouldn't have liked this eagle either. He doesn't look very eagle-y. Quite a character, actually. I've decided this is one of my hidden talents - taking photos of animals when their at their very un-animalness 😆. Do with that what you will.

ᑭIᑕ Oᖴ TᕼE ᗪᗩY - duck duck moose!

When I took this shot, I remember thinking how nice it was of the duck to add some visual interest to the shot. Once I went back to look at all of my picstures, I realized that the duck had been hanging out with the moose the entire way down the river! I'm not sure who was following whom, though, and if the moose was actually happy to have him around or not, lol.

ᑭIᑕ Oᖴ TᕼE ᗪᗩY - roadside black

Munching on roadside wildflowers seemed to be the thing to do for bears we saw this year. This particular bear was pretty nervous, even though we were fairly far away. He appeared to be weighing the risk vs. reward of his snacking adventure, pausing multiple times (with paw raised) to see where we were. In the end, he gave up on flowers and took off over the ridge.

Jumping to the last moose we saw in the Tetons... this one wasn't shy and just stood in the pond posing for the crowd (with ranger supervision).

ᑭIᑕ Oᖴ TᕼE ᗪᗩY - mini marmots!

First we saw the mama nibbling on flowers nearby, then she scurried off over the rocks. Shortly after, these currious cuties appeared and were ready to explore. Thankfully all of the humans were being well behaved - I don't think mama marmot would have been happy with how unbothered these littles were with us!

Moose were a little easier to find for us at Tetons this year, but they don't always cooperate for photos, lol. This young one didn't want to come out of the trees - too busy having breakfast!

ᑭIᑕ Oᖴ TᕼE ᗪᗩY - "teddy"

The first bear of the season for us. We didn't catch much bear activity at the Tetons for various reasons, so spotting this black bear at a small bear jam was a nice surprise! We named it "Teddy" for it's teddy bear look, lol.

I can't decide which of these reflection pics I like better - the previous one has the ducks, but this one feels a lot cleaner. I love the look of Aspens too - the white color of the trunks adds some much needed contrast to the forest!

Time to get back at this! There wasn't much going on at the bend on this morning - but that's ok, nothing going on means no water disturbances and beautiful reflections. GTNP - 2025
