Well... this wasn’t on today’s bingo card. 🪣🐱
Someone left these adorable kittens on our front doorstep this morning in a bucket—with a very odd looking “lid.”
While we give this one 5/10 for improvisation (tied with electrical wire? 🤔), this is an important reminder: please do not leave animals at our door, especially when we’re closed. We can’t guarantee they’ll be found right away, and a lot can happen before someone arrives.
If you’ve found an animal, please contact us so we can guide you through the safest way to get them into our care. It gives them the best chance at staying safe from the moment they’re found.
These kittens are okay and in good hands now—but let’s make sure this isn’t how the next rescue story begins!

❗️URGENT: Kyle Needs Out of the Shelter

Meet Kyle, a handsome 2-year-old red Doberman who’s hoping someone will see beyond his shelter behavior.
When Kyle first arrived, he came in with a tough attitude. But with patience, consistency, and love from our staff, he’s made significant progress and has shown that he’s capable of trusting the people who give him a chance.
Unfortunately, the shelter environment is taking a serious toll on him. Kyle becomes extremely stressed in his kennel—panting, pacing, excessive drooling, and barking. He’s friendly with “his people,” but unfamiliar people can make him feel uneasy, causing him to growl or raise his hackles. This has made it difficult for him to find the right match, often scaring away potential adopters.
The good news? Kyle appears to do well with other dogs, and we believe he has potential in the right environment with someone who understands his needs.
But due to those needs, Kyle urgently needs to leave the shelter. A calm, patient, experienced home or rescue willing to give him the time and space to decompress could make all the difference.

On the couch with Kyles- Senior Special Edition 🐕

Meet Sandy and Lady—two senior dogs who should be spending their golden years surrounded by love, not sitting in a shelter kennel.

💜 Sandy suffers from arthritis and spinal pressure that limits her mobility. Even with a soft bed, spending day after day confined to a kennel only worsens her condition. She deserves gentle walks, a cozy place to rest, and a family who will make her comfortable—not for the shelter to be the last place she ever calls home.

💜 Lady arrived at the shelter barely able to see due to untreated eye infections. While she has made improvements with care, she still has vision impairment. Imagine how frightening a busy, unfamiliar shelter must be for a senior dog who can’t fully see the world around her. She deserves the comfort and security of a loving home where she can finally relax.

These sweet, easy going girls have already been through enough. They were left behind when they should have been cherished through their senior years. Now they’re simply hoping for someone to give them what every dog deserves—a warm bed, kind hands, and a family to love them for the rest of their lives.
🐾 Both appear to be dog-friendly.

This is why length of stay matters.

When we say a dog’s length of stay matters, this is exactly what we mean.
The longer animals remain in the shelter, the more the constant stress takes a toll. Stress is real. It weakens their bodies, affects their immune systems, and over time, their health can begin to decline.
What happened to Randy? We don’t know.
What we do know is that he’s been here far longer than he ever should have been.
It shouldn’t take seeing an animal hurt, sick, or suffering to take action. But here we are again, watching another dog deteriorate while waiting for someone to notice him.
We do everything we can to advocate for these dogs before they reach this point. We share them. We plead for them. We put them on our urgent lists because we know what extended shelter stays can do. We don’t want this to happen!
Yet too often, people only act after something devastating happens.
So we’re asking you: Do all of our urgent dogs have to be in pain before someone comes for them?
Please don’t wait until it’s too late.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting, fostering, or sharing, let Randy be your reason to act today. And if Randy isn’t the right fit for your home, there are so many other urgent dogs whose stories don’t have to end this way.

It’s not just dogs that need your help. We are also overwhelmed with kittens of all ages. Most critically, is this little sweet baby who is severely affected by ringworm. Ringworm is an easily treatable but highly infectious disease that poses a particularly big threat in a shelter population. This baby is very uncomfortable and needs special dedicated care. Another urgent dog highlight. Meet Sylvester, A163154.
Sylvester recently had an incident that showed us he is not comfortable around other dogs. During the interaction, he nipped a handler’s hand, and before he had time to calm down, he nipped at another person who approached him.
Sylvester needs a dog-free home with someone who is patient, understands his boundaries, and is willing to help him build trust.
He came to us with a microchip and a name, but no one ever came for him. Now, he’s depending on us to find him a home.
The longer Sylvester remains in the shelter, the more stress he experiences, which is not fair to him. Please share him for a second chance. ❤️🐾
