This Zenaida dove (2nd picture) was brought into the in St. John Island, U.S. Virgin Islands after a suspected cat attack. On intake, the bird was 90 grams.

To optimize delivery of nutrients and support hydration, EmerAid IC Omnivore was chosen as the initial food via tube feeding. The dove also received wound management and supportive care. After supportive care and healing, the dove was released back to the wild with a 20 g weight gain!

This orphaned baby Red-tailed hawk fell from its nest this summer. On arrival at Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue, the baby was very thin and tested positive for endoparasites. The bird was started on EmerAid IC Carnivore until it was able to be transitioned onto solid food.

The center has a rather robust surrogate program, and so this bird was sent there to be placed with their female, adult surrogate Red-tailed hawk and after being with the adult for a few months, this young bird was able to learn to hunt and be released!

🚨 Wildlife Rescue Spotlight 🚨

Meet Diamond, a female Red-bellied woodpecker who came to the Wildlife Center of North Georgia after a suspected window collision in mid-2024. She arrived unresponsive, suffering from a concussion, dehydration, and a broken upper bill.

With spinal trauma preventing her from self-feeding, the team provided round-the-clock care, including syringe-feeding EmerAid IC Carnivore and EmerAid IC Omnivore to maintain her nutrition and hydration. This life-saving combination supported her recovery while she healed from her injuries.

Within a month, Diamond regained her balance and made a full recovery! Thanks to the amazing rescue team and EmerAid, they could give her the care she needed until she was ready to return to the wild. 🐦💚
