Offering private and group training focused on trust and communication for the Family Dog. Jenn’s Dogs offers many options for training.

Jenn's Dogs offers training that focuses on building a relationship with your dog. Using humane and science backed methods, you can establish two way communication with your canine companion. Current research has given us new insight on how dogs think, feel, and learn. Jenn's Dogs follows LIMA practices (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive). This allows you and your dog to learn and grow together, focusing on communication to strengthen your bond. Most dogs will start with Level classes. This learning path teaches appropriate behavior expectation from both ends of the leash. It focuses on not only teaching your dog what you would like them to do, but also teaching you how to ask for behavior and build reliability at a steady rate. Level classes are offered in a group setting, or as private sessions. For dogs that have big emotions, Jenn’s Dogs offers specialty packages that can help your dog overcome their triggers and learn how to return to a normal range of emotion. Many of these emotions can be displayed as "aggressive" behaviors. These behaviors are often scary and dangerous. Specialty packages are offered for leash reactivity to outdoor triggers, as well as teaching relaxation protocols for triggers within the home. Training is offered at the Jenn’s Dogs Training Studio in Forest Grove, or in your home on select days. Travel fees apply to in home sessions based on distance from the Training Studio. 🎓🐾 Private Level 2: Public Manners Graduation! 🎉🐶

Sometimes the best training schedule is the one that actually works for your life! 💛

This wonderful team needed a little extra flexibility, and private Level 2 sessions gave them the opportunity to continue building their skills without trying to fit into a traditional group class schedule.

Through individualized dog training, this dog and guardian continued refining their communication, strengthening their partnership, and developing the real life skills that make adventures together more enjoyable. 🐕✨

At Jenn’s Dogs, we know that every family has different needs. Private sessions are a fantastic option whether you're navigating a complicated schedule, prefer one-on-one attention, or simply want to work toward your goals at your own pace.

🐈🐾 Happy National Cat Day!

We may have DOGS in our name, but we have plenty of love for our feline friends, too!

Cats are curious, intelligent, independent little creatures with their own communication styles, enrichment needs, and very strong opinions about how their day should go. 😂

And just like dogs, cats benefit from positive reinforcement, choice, predictable routines, and opportunities to express natural behaviors. Yes, you can absolutely clicker train a cat!

Fluffy faces, wiggly bodies, and personalities as big as their puppy paws! 🐾🥹💛

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Life Unleashed Farms in Vernonia, Oregon, for temperament testing with their adorable Sheepadoodle puppies, and what a delightful bunch!

One of our favorite things about working with thoughtful breeders is seeing all the care that goes into raising puppies before they ever head home. Life Unleashed Farms puts wonderful effort into their puppy curriculum, helping these little ones explore, learn, and experience the world around them. 🐶✨

Temperament testing adds another piece to that journey!

At Jenn’s Dogs, we look at developing tendencies like confidence, assertiveness, tenderheartedness, motivation, playfulness, social engagement, and responses to unfamiliar sights, sounds, and dogs.

And while we're collecting information, these puppies are busy being their adorable, curious, playful selves! 😂💕

It's never about finding the perfect puppy. It's about understanding each puppy as an individual and helping breeders make thoughtful matches with families who can support them as they grow.

🐶 Puppy socialization doesn't always look like puppies playing together! 💛

Sometimes the most valuable social experiences happen when puppies are simply sharing space, exploring their surroundings, or observing what's happening around them.

Here's a little snapshot of playtime during our Level 0: Puppy Life Skills class at Jenn's Dogs! 🐾

Even though these puppies aren't actively playing with each other, there's still plenty of social learning happening. They're practicing being comfortable around other dogs, making choices, exploring their environment, and learning that they don't always need to interact.

These experiences help build confidence, emotional regulation, and healthy social skills that support puppies as they grow.

Our puppy training program combines enrichment, positive reinforcement, and force free dog training to create opportunities for puppies to learn at their own pace. ❤️

🎓🐾 Level 1: Basic Manners Graduation! 🎉🐶

Clear communication builds stronger relationships, and these graduates have been putting in the work! 💛

Our newest Level 1 graduates spent seven weeks learning how to better understand one another, build predictable communication, and develop the everyday skills that make life together more enjoyable.

From leash manners and recall to impulse control and thoughtful decision making, these teams worked hard to create a foundation built on trust, cooperation, and compassion. 🐕✨

At Jenn’s Dogs, dog training is about more than teaching cues. Through positive reinforcement, force free dog training, and enrichment, we help dogs and their guardians develop the skills to navigate everyday life together.

🎃🐾 It's National Pumpkin Day, and somewhere out there, the Great Pumpkin is getting ready for Halloween!

While we're waiting for the Great Pumpkin to make an appearance, our dogs have a few ideas about what to do with all those pumpkins! 😂

Plain, cooked pumpkin or 100% pure pumpkin purée can be a fun addition to enrichment toys, lick mats, and frozen treats when offered in appropriate amounts. Just skip the pumpkin pie filling, added spices, and sweeteners!

And don't forget, pumpkin patches are full of interesting smells, sights, and sounds. For dogs who enjoy outings, a quiet pumpkin patch visit might be the perfect fall adventure. 🍂

Big smiles, wiggly bodies, enthusiastic kisses, and personalities that are entirely their own! Today we're celebrating pit bull-type dogs and the people who love them.

Unfortunately, these dogs often face stereotypes and misconceptions based on their appearance rather than who they are as individuals.

At Jenn’s Dogs, we believe every dog deserves to be understood for the individual they are. Breed and genetics can influence behavior, but they never tell the whole story. Compassionate care, appropriate enrichment, positive reinforcement training, and understanding each dog's needs matter far more than labels. 🐾
