🐴🐶 Who Am I?

For those who are new here, I thought I'd share a little about myself and why I am so passionate about what I do.

Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the horse world, and that passion has never faded. Over the years, I've been blessed to experience many different aspects of the livestock and companion animal industries.

For the past 17 years, I've been raising Australian Shepherds with a strong focus on health, temperament, structure, and purpose. Along the way, I've competed at breed shows, state-level competitions, and national events. I've also had the privilege of judging and mentoring youth through programs like 4-H and FFA, helping them build confidence and strong partnerships with their animals.

My background extends far beyond dogs. I've managed horse barns, worked in hog facilities, studied equine reproduction, and continue to pursue education whenever I have the opportunity. Whether it's livestock judging, breed standards, animal behavior, genetics, or husbandry, I truly believe there is always something new to learn.

I've spent countless hours at horse shows, dog shows, county fairs, state fairs, clinics, and educational events. Every experience has taught me something valuable and shaped the way I care for animals today.

One thing you'll quickly learn about me is that I never stop learning. Breed standards evolve, research grows, and there is always room to improve. I believe that continuing education isn't just important—it's a responsibility.

Whether you're here for a puppy, dog training, horses, education, or simply to follow along on our journey, thank you for being here. I look forward to sharing what I've learned, continuing to grow, and helping both animals and the people who love them.

Different perspectives are what help us learn and grow.

🐾 We're STILL Looking for the Right Person! 🐾

We have several important work-related trips planned in #2026 and are looking for a reliable, honest, trustworthy animal lover to care for our ranch while we're away.

This position requires staying at our home during our trips in 2027 to ensure the receive the care and attention they deserve.

Requirements:
🐶 Must love animals
🏡 Must be willing to stay at our home when we're traveling
🚗 Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive
📋 References required
💪 Must not be afraid of hard work
⏰ Part-time (2–3 hours a day when needed, with longer hours while we're away)
💲 Pay based on experience
📚 Willing to train the right person, with pay increasing as experience and responsibilities grow.

Usually we have all this spread before now but between timing and weather we didn't get it done.

We are as and as we can be here on the .

We no longer use any chemicals.

I use homeopathic vials, nosodes, frequencies etc for our animals and ourselves.

We can't be labeled as an organic ranch since we use a type of fence post. 😒

But, we do what we can to keep detoxing, grounding, healing and understanding.

Education is key.

Relearning things is key.

🐾 Something New May Be Coming to TAGA Ranch. 🐾

Over the years, I've had so many people ask if I would offer dog training classes.

I'm considering offering an 8-week Foundations I Obedience Class right here in C**n Rapids, Iowa, and I'd love to see if there's enough interest to get the first class on the schedule!

🐶 Foundations I 📍 C**n Rapids, Iowa 📅 8-week course ⏰ 1-hour class each week 💲 $275 for the complete 8-week program

✔️ Sit ✔️ Down ✔️ Stay ✔️ Recall (Come) ✔️ Loose leash walking ✔️ Focus & engagement ✔️ Everyday manners ✔️ Building a stronger relationship with your dog

🐾 Class size will be limited to just 10 dog/handler teams to ensure everyone receives plenty of one-on-one instruction.

💳 Payment in full will be required prior to the first class to reserve your spot.

A properly fitted training collar and leash will be required before classes begin. I'll gladly provide recommendations if you're unsure what equipment is appropriate.
