I did hold two silkies back after selling all my breeders , my husband told me I'd go into silkie withdrawal if I sold them all . So I kept these roos and this girl.

Will have two pens for 🌈 eggs pen 1 will be all my dark layers under a dark roo (not sure who the roo will be yet) Pen 2 will be all my blue green layers under a amerucauna roo.(Should consist of Americana aka Easter egger, amerucauna and salmon faverolla. Stay tuned(I did hold back a few silkies but am not focusing on that right now )

So I ended up selling off pretty much all of my adult silkies I still have some growing out that I'm going to hold back I just needed to restart and really focus on what it is that makes me happy and I want to do, right now I'm focusing on putting the Rainbow Laying flock together and I'm going to do silkies very very small scale ,they're just so incredibly hard and expensive to try to keep healthy and alive and most of the medications that I used on them aren't approved to use on birds who you are using for eggs so my husband was starting to get a little frustrated that we had chickens and we couldn't even eat the eggs 😂

These little nuggets will be the look I go for in my rainbow laying pen . The Americana Pullets from the tractor supply are just too stinking cute .

Start them young ( we keep out laying grow outs with the silkies because they're safest with them )
