We are excited to introduce our new online pharmacy! As many clients have experienced there can be a lot of difficulty with working with outside pharmacies like Chewy or 1-800 Pet Meds. To mitigate this we have partnered with Vetsource, allowing us to keep our prices similar (and sometimes cheaper) than the other competitors. This also DIRECTLY supports our locally owned clinic. April is heart worm awareness month!

Heartworm disease is a serious disease that results in severe lung disease, heart failure, other organ damage, and death in pets, mainly dogs, cats, and ferrets. It is caused by a parasitic worm called Dirofilaria immitis. The worms are spread through the bite of a mosquito. The worms are called “heartworms” because the adults live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of an infected animal. In the United States, heartworm disease is most common along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts from the Gulf of Mexico to New Jersey and along the Mississippi River and its major tributaries, but it has been reported in dogs in all 50 states.

Treatment is very expensive, and painful for your pet. In cats, sudden death occurs before treatment can be initiated. However- Heartworm disease is 100% PREVENTABLE. Please reach out to us if your pet needs more prevention, or if they need to get started on a preventative product.
