** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery**

This adorable little girl is the sweet as can be, Sidney. Sidney and her siblings were found as tiny stray kittens, and thankfully taken in by one of our wonderful foster families. Sidney has an estimated birthdate of 5/26/25, so she's about 11 weeks old. Sidney is a the only girl in her litter, and has three awesome brothers who look out for her. Sidney and her siblings all needed a little help with their eyes when they came to us, so you may notice some squinty eyes in their photos. Their foster mom has taken great care of them and has done a great job getting their eyes healed up! This cute crew loves nothing more than to wrestle around and play together and then take a much deserved cat nap. Sidney's foster mom says that it's a must that she be adopted with a brother as she's very bonded with them and cries if she is left alone and doesn't see any of them. Glen is her favorite brother but, they all LOVE her, and kittens adopted in pairs do so much better than single kittens. No one can play with a kitten the same way that another kitten can, plus you save two lives instead of one! Single Kitten Syndrome is a real thing, and it isn't pretty! This cute crew has older foster brother dogs and cats in their foster home, and their foster mom says that he does great with them. Being so young, these littles are really adaptable and would do great in just about any home, where their are resident cats and dogs. Just remember that slow and proper introductions are important. Would you like to meet the sweet as can be, Sidney and Glen or Cinder or Marbles? If so, please complete an application and schedule a meet and greet. Remember that this sweet group of kittens reside in a foster home, and not at the shelter, so a meet and greet must be scheduled.

Introducing Curry!

Curry is a sweet, snuggly bulldog who’s happiest when he’s curled up in your lap, yes, all of him. He’s incredibly affectionate, loves gentle touch, and takes treats like a gentleman. His favorite things? Soft squeaky toys, belly rubs, and being close to his people.

He’s food motivated and keeps a clean kennel, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. Curry does well with grooming and has no resource guarding, making him an easygoing companion in daily routines.

He also seems to have some hearing loss (He's an old man) especially outdoors, where he tends to tune out and follow his own path. He’ll thrive with someone who’s patient, consistent, and understands that his world might sound a little quieter than ours.

If you’re looking for a low key companion with a big heart and a soft spot for squeaky toys, Curry’s ready to crawl into your lap and stay awhile.

Approximate Birth Date - 08/05/2017

Size - Medium (55lbs)

House Training - Curry is fully house trained!

Other dogs - Curry has met a few other dogs since arriving at the shelter and although he did well, he does come in quite rude so any potential doggy sibling will need to be able to tolerate that.

Meet Sassafras!

Sassy is a sweet, funny girl currently enrolled in a prison training program where she’s working on her basic commands. She’s gentle with people, loves a good cuddle, and has a playful streak—especially when it comes to treat puzzles. Her favorite is the Kong Wobbler, and she’ll happily bat it around for snacks and fun.

She’s also a vocal hound who loves to bay, especially if you start the howling—she’ll join right in. Because of her voice and her need for space, apartment life isn’t the best fit. Sassy would thrive in a home with a big backyard or some land to explore.

She does have some separation anxiety, so she’s looking for a family that’s home more often than not. With time, patience, and consistency, she’ll continue to grow into a confident, loving companion.

If you’re looking for a gentle, goofy dog with a big heart and a big voice, Sassy might be your perfect match.

Approximate Birth Date - 07/01/2023

Size - Extra Large and currently underweight at 48lbs so she's got room to grow!

House Training - Sassafras does great keeping her kennel clean and is currently at the prison program to hone in those potty trained skills even more!

Other Dogs - Sassy has met other dogs here at the shelter and did wonderful with them!

This adorable little guy is the sweet as can be, Marbles. Marbles and his siblings were found as tiny stray kittens and have resided in a foster home since coming to us. Marbles has an estimated birthdate of 5/26/25, so he's about 11 weeks old. Their foster mom has taken great care of them and has done a great job getting their eyes healed up! This cute crew loves nothing more than to wrestle around and play together and then take a much deserved cat nap. Their foster mom says that Marbles is an independent, but loving boy and he likes to find tucked away areas for his naps. It would be ideal if Marbles could be adopted with one of his siblings, as kittens adopted in pairs do so much better than kittens adopted alone. This little cutie pie is Sydney! Sydney and his siblings came to us through no fault of their own but only after their owner passed away. Sydney has an estimated birthdate of 5/16/25, so he's about 11 weeks old. Sydney and his siblings have been lucky enough to live in a foster home since coming to us, and that is where they currently reside. Sydney loves nothing more than to play up a storm and wrestle around with his siblings. His foster mom says that he's a very happy, curious and affectionate kitten, and that he is an all around wonderful boy. She said that he is the shyest from the group, but that he's coming out of his shell more and more every day! He loves to snuggle and also loves to play with toys too. He loves a soft warm bed to snuggle up in as well. He's a champion litter box user and a huge fan of canned food and would love to continue to receive that in his forever home. It would be ideal if Sydney could be adopted with one of his siblings. Kittens adopted in pairs do so much better than kittens that at are adopted alone. Single kitten syndrome is a real thing and no one wants a Kittenzilla in their home! This little cutie gets along great with the older cats in his foster home and is also great with kids. He hasn't met any dogs yet, but being so young he would be fine with a cat friendly and gentle dog. Would you like to meet the sweet as can be Sydney and hopefully a sibling too? If so, please complete an application and schedule a meet and greet once your application is approved. Remember that this little cutie lives in a foster home and is not at the shelter, so a meet and greet must be scheduled.
