Did you know? Doodles shed!

Poodles and bichons have a continuously growing coat, similar to humans. Just like you lose a few hairs each day, so do these breeds and most of their mixes. So if they're continually losing hair, why isn't your house covered? The answer is in their curls! Many doodle mixes have kinky curly coats that trap the dead hair and prevent it from falling to the floor, thus leading to the misconception that doodles do not shed. This is one reason that their coats can be so high maintince and prone to matting faster than double coated breeds.

Cocoa's first appointment with me was somewhat disastrous due to her extreme fear of the dryer. I listened to her needs and adjusted my approach for today's session and she was an entirely different dog to work on! I'm so excited for the progress she made ✨️
