The Missy's H.E.A.R.T. Founded by Dr. Janice Coffey of Coffey's Vet Center. This charity is still being organized.

Charity was created to honor the memory of Missy Grider, to help our community's pets and pet owners, and reflect the values that Missy and her family shared while she was alive. We appreciate your patience while we prepare for operation!

Owner has been found! Thank you everyone!

This sweet baby was just hit by a car by the fivestar on Burkesville Rd in Columbia. A good Samaritan brought her to Coffey’s Vet Center. She has two broken bones and other injuries. She has a collar but no tags and no microchip. We are sure someone is missing this baby! Please help us spread the word, since the shelter is closed today!

These baby kittens are just two-weeks-old! They were surrendered after their mother disappeared. Raising baby kittens on a bottle is very hard work! We will be caring for these babies until they are able to eat solid foods, then they will be ready for adoption!! Please send them your love in the comments!! ❤️

The little dumpster pups are looking for their forever homes! They were put in a cardboard box and put in a dumpster, and were very close to getting crushed by the trash compactor! Luckily, they were saved and are in need of homes! Please share this post far and wide so they have the best chance at finding their families! If you are interested in adopting one of these sweet babies, please fill out the form using the link below. A refundable $30 deposit is required to book an appointment due to the large number of no-shows we were getting. Each pup will be given their first vaccine, microchipped, and have a spay/neuter voucher!

Queen Bean had her babies last night! She had 5 beautiful kittens! 2 black and 3 white! They are very cute and she has bonded to them well! We will keep you all updated as the kittens grow!! Be sure to tell Queen Bean congratulations in the comments!!

We are officially on kitten watch for Queen Bean! The doctor estimates she should be having her kittens within a week! How exciting! We expect at least three babies, maybe more! Everyone send well wishes and good vibes to Queen Bean and her future litter! We hope her birth goes smoothly!!

These pups were found in a box in a dumpster! They were so close to being crushed by the garbage compactor!!! Luckily, the garbage collecter heard them wimpering at the last moment and found their box! A kind citizen brought the box of puppies to us, and they are all in need of forever homes! There are 3 girls and 3 boys - our best guess is that they may be boxer/huskey mixes. All the girls have floppy ears and all the boys have pointed ears. If anyone is interested in adopting one of these sweet babies, please fill out the form and make an appointment at www.missysheart.com/adoption-application - a refundable* $30 deposit is required to book an appointment due to the number of no-shows we have previously had.

*Deposit is refundable if changes are made within 24 hours OR appointment is kept but the animal is not adopted.

Ariel and Kane built a friendship through the kennel fencing, so we decided to give them a supervised playdate together. Kane had a leash on in case we needed to intervene. Kane is usually very dog-aggressive which is why he was surrendered to us - but he would roll over and be playful towards Ariel when placed in the kennel beside her. The playdate went very well, and we will be letting them socialize together more in the future! This should help Ariel build up her muscles and should help Kane with his socialization! Win win! Ariel is wearing makeshift booties (she has real booties coming in the mail) to help her run around and play without scraping up her back feet. We are still fundraising for the hydrotherapy treadmill for her, but this is the best we can do for now!

Meet our newest surrender - Batman. The poor boy is fighting with an upper respiratory infection and is a little worse-for-wear. He is a sweet boy and will be very handsome once we get him feeling better! Keep an eye out for when he becomes adoptable!

Sassy found her home today with this lovely couple! We have never seen her so happy, calm, and relaxed! Everyone send Sassy and her new mom and dad congratulations and well wishes!!
