Gunner is a 3-year-old male with primarily Czech working lines and a touch of East German/DDR blood behind him. He is a dog that brings a lot to the table both as a working partner and as a dog to live with day to day.
In the home, Gunner is calm, clean, and easy to live with. He has a solid off switch and settles nicely indoors, but the second there is something to do, he is all in and ready to go. Whether it's training, work, or loading up for an adventure, he is always ready to engage. He loves his people fiercely and is deeply committed to those in his circle, but outside of that circle he is naturally neutral and aloof. He does not seek attention from strangers and has no interest in unnecessary socializing.
Gunner is naturally dominant both with other dogs and in his work, without having unnecessary aggression.(No DA, SSA, HA) He carries medium-high prey, high civil defense, strong natural forward aggression, and high ball drive, with moderate hunt drive. He is a naturally serious dog that did not need to be created through training, although I have sharpened his natural ability with a TON of training (working videos are available). The work has always been there. He has proven himself as a personal protection dog in a real-life situation and possesses the type of natural ability that is becoming harder to find.
In training, he may not be the flashy obedience dog that puts on a show, but he is incredibly intelligent and learns exceptionally fast. Most things only take a few repetitions before he understands exactly what is being asked. He naturally wants to engage with his handler, is very biddable, and takes correction without issue or sensitivity.
Environmentally, Gunner is exactly what I value in a working dog. He has no environmental or noise sensitivities and walks into new places with a confidence level that honestly borders on cocky. He has tremendous stamina and endurance and handles pressure well.
Physically, Gunner stands 26.5 inches at the withers and weighs approximately 93 pounds. He is OFA health tested with Fair hips and Normal elbows and has a full clear Embark panel, including DM. He also holds his VHMA, CGC, and Novice Trick Dog titles.
The traits I value most in Gunner and hope to see carried into future generations are his confidence, stability, and his absolutely natural working ability. He is the kind of dog that was born with the work already inside of him.
If you have a female that you are looking to bring size, natural talent, deep/full grips, and natural forward aggression in protection to, contact me and let's work!
*All females MUST have official hips, elbows, and genetic testing performed, as well as a current negative brucellosis at MINIMUM!*
