🐾✨ This is my first official post, and if you already know me, you know I tend to do things a little outside the box… and if you don’t, you’re about to. 😉
To me, the best way to understand someone and their connection with animals is to see the relationship they have with their own. So I took a deep dive back through my personal account, nearly three years ago, when my beloved Sykah Bear crossed over the rainbow bridge.
I had her from just 9 weeks old, through every season of life, to 11 years. When she was diagnosed with aggressive bone cancer in her 10th year of life, I made the difficult call to amputate her leg and move forward with chemo. It wasn’t an easy or predictable road, but with a leap of faith, it gave us something priceless - more time. And she handled it all with a strength and spirit that still amazes me to this day.
I want to build a foundation of trust with my prospective clients; to help them understand how much animals truly mean to me… and that their furry family members will be met with that same genuine love, patience, and care.
So, to those who don't know me on a personal level just yet - here’s a glimpse into my world.
Meet Sykah, and a tribute to the beautiful life we shared together. 🐾✨
❤️🔥A Brush with Infinity; From Stardust to Spark of Life - Now to Return to Dust and onto the Cosmos
🐾 More than these words can possibly truly relate - I love you baby girl, Sykah Bear, my baby bean.. thank you for taking care of me for all these years, thank you for being the toughest girl I've ever had the pleasure to be so thoroughly soul touched and immensely impressed by.
🐾 Thank you for the impenetrable trust, and for the immense kindness, unwavering through the turbulent times during last fall that you underwent in order to have more adventures with us, here in this existence.
🐾 Thank you for making it to your 10th Birthday in February, and for making it all the way into the warmer months; what millions of cherished moments together we shared from your wee babe age of 9 weeks.
🐾 I thank you the most for sticking around long enough to fully protect me, by keeping my heart safe in these recent weeks. Give Jer Bear and Kali Doo some Rocket Kisses for us all.
Cheers to the BEST summersalter, wigglebutt, nesting master, twirling girl, cat like rubber-upper, rolliest and polliest snuffaluffagus.
✨ Cheers to my lassy, who if I couldn't see her for a few, peaking my curiosity as to where she might be, she would just be kicking it calmly, directly under my butt. Training me to be mindful anytime I settled onto a couch, chair, or bed; ensuring that when I stand up, I don't step on her, the furry puppy 'rug.'
✨ Cheers to one with ferocious loyalty; bringing 30 mighty pounds of alarm puppy noises, followed by squeaky doggy love songs..typically sang through a mouth full of her favorite new toy that she is oh SO PROUD to show you!
✨ Cheers to an incredibly talented and intelligent dog who mastered a repertoire of specialty tricks that left everyone in awe! Graduating Level 1, 2, and 3 of agility classes before the young age of three. Not to mention her willingness to be an acrobat, and do acro yoga with mommy.
✨ Cheers to my sweetest bean, with a never ending 'play with me face'.. for your hypervigilance to always let me know about what you deemed to be the close by 'imminent dangers,' or the loved ones you could hear approaching, far before I could detect them..
✨ Cheers to the furball who would get adorable playful crushes on the smaller dogs, and who would be known for developing major crushes on most of my close gal friends boyfriends/husbands..
✨ Cheers to a girl who nearly never was adorned by those strange 'leash things;' who we could leave the gates open all day(while we are home)leaving us with full confidence that she wouldn't take herself for any unsupervised adventures.
✨ Cheers to a dog who loved cats pretty much instantly - as much as she loved other dogs(once the canines passed the Sykah initiation period)
✨ Cheers to being a Chuck-it champ, constantly keeping me a Chuck-it aim master… for all the montana river paths, the hikes with our family/friends/canine/human packs, the river floats, camping trips, festival adventures, and of course, YOU taking ME for walks… and for becoming the most talented three legged circus dog after healing faster than I could have ever imagined..
✨ Cheers to the thousands of good night snuggles and wake up kisses, for the fur pillow to cherish closely in rest(and to occasionally cry into)and for the four(and then three)paws to hold in my hands..
✨ Cheers the the unwritten cheers, for the many unbelievable years; Cheers to all the the happy, and even for the sad tears.
🌹 🥲 💐🥺 She left us in the way that she would have wanted; just shortly before her disease would have consumed her strength.. I had to make sure her last days were not her very worst days… pain was increasing and real suffering was quickly approaching.. with an underlying looming imminent threat which inevitably would have brought a traumatic and terrifying ending(with possible emergent care, away from her home with strangers in a sterile, foreign and scary environment…) I simply would not have this; I did not want this for her, and I certainly did not want those memories for myself…(She made sure to tell me “Remember mom, you matter here too…”)
🌹 🥲 💐🥺 We were at our home that was hers for the better majority of her life- in her yard.. believing she was just taking a peaceful nap in her mommas arms, after a great day with family and surrounded by those who love her(and who love her mommy) the most. Drifting away with the scents of palo santo, adorned in stargazer lilies, listening to the sounds of musical saints, with fresh tears of the purest love streaming atop her tiny body, protecting her on her new journey. Fly safe, my Baby Bean ✨
