We are asking for your help once again. And we can not continue our efforts without your help!

We have borrowed a van once again to move some doggies!! We are hoping we don’t have to ask them again!

We have 27!! Yes 27 dogs/puppies leaving Friday!!

5 of these were strays brought in by ACO to the shelter.
23 😳were strays in Morehouse Parish!

We are looking for sponsors to help get these guys to rescue!!

$25 sponsorships will help pay most of our gas! ( this only covers MOST of gas, and we still have expenses such as hotel, puppy pads, food etc)

Any amount is appreciated.

These guys need to move!
The winter and holidays are approaching and transporting will shut down soon! And we still do not have a van of our own!

If you can sponsor a dog, they appreciate it!!

Walking In The Sun

Walking In The Sun Rescue is a foster based 501(c)(3) charitable organization located in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana. Our desire, our hope, all of our efforts work toward finding loving responsible homes for the homeless, neglected and abused companion animals in our area and beyond. Walking In The Sun Rescue networks and coordinates with rescues and shelters across the nation. We work closely with our local shelter, Morehouse Humane Society in Bastrop, Louisiana, to aid in the pet overpopulation epidemic in the region through education, adoption and promoting low cost spay/neuter services. We believe all companion animals have value, feel, think, sense and are monumentally important in ways we’ve yet to discover. We try to love them as much as they love us.

The name of our rescue comes from a seed of hope. We want to bring the troubled companion animals that come to us from sad, dark places to a brighter place. We’re dedicated to healing, finding permanent homes, and to giving them a future and a life they deserve. We think all companion animals should be able to enjoy the simple rejuvenating experience of walking in the sun.
