More in depth version of the earlier post on the Coleman Canine Collective page.

Spring is here—and while your home and yard might look beautiful, some of the most common plants this time of year are dangerous for dogs.

Before you bring that bouquet inside or plant something new, take a second look 👇

🚫 Common toxic spring flowers:
• Tulips & Hyacinths (bulbs are the worst offenders)
• Daffodils
• Lilies (especially dangerous—even small exposures matter)
• Azaleas & Rhododendrons

🚫 Common toxic houseplants:
• Sago Palm (this one is extremely toxic—even small amounts can be fatal)
• Pothos
• Philodendron
• Dieffenbachia (Dumb Cane)
• Aloe

These can cause anything from drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea… to serious organ damage and death. And here’s the kicker—most dogs don’t “know better.” Chewing a plant is normal dog behavior, especially for curious, anxious, or bored pups.

Management matters.
If it’s in reach, it’s fair game.

✔️ Keep toxic plants completely out of your dog’s environment
✔️ Supervise outdoor time during peak bloom seasons
✔️ Provide appropriate outlets for chewing and mental stimulation

A “well-behaved” dog isn’t a dog who magically avoids bad choices—it’s a dog set up to succeed.

If your dog is getting into things they shouldn’t, that’s information—not defiance.

Calm Confident Canine can help you create structure, clarity, and safer habits for both of you.

Does your dog…

• Bolt out the front door like it’s an Olympic event?
• Launch onto guests like they’re a trampoline?
• Drag you down the street like a ragdoll?
• Sound the alarm at every delivery truck like it’s the apocalypse?
• Hurl themselves at dogs and people like their life depends on it?
• Turn mealtime into a full-contact sport?

You’re not alone—and you’re not stuck with it.

Calm Confident Canine can help you turn chaos into control through appropriate leadership built on respect, trust, and yes—real love (not the “let them do whatever they want” kind).

A balanced dog = a peaceful home.

Curious what that could look like for you?
