This is “Wick” during his first ride ever.

We were contacted by the owner of this horse, saying he had a 7 year old stud that was halter broke but barely handled. He said he was having a hard time finding someone willing to take a practically untouched stud at this age. Truth be told, we were likely about to give him the same answer until he said the magic words,

“I don’t care how long it takes, as long as it’s right.”

All too often customers and trainers are guilty of expecting too much, too fast. Every horse is different and takes more or less time than another. There are 100 ways to get the same result correctly, but there is most definitely a wrong way, no matter the strategy used when training.

It cannot be argued that slow is fast, and that a quiet start is a solid start.

We pride ourselves on starting all of our horses quietly, and we believe a horse learns to buck just the same as they learn to ride. We focus on starting horses with all the tools to allow them to be successful in all walks of life, whether that be in the arena, the show ring, the ranch, or just on the trail.
