Stormfly is giving you all a little peek into what a day in her life can look like—one part of that being handling and nail trims. 📸🐶💕
One of the things I absolutely love seeing in a dog I’ve raised is confidence and comfort with handling, grooming, and new experiences. Stormfly is a great example of why we put so much emphasis on these things from the very beginning.
Stormfly was one of our puppies from our very first litter, so watching her now is such a rewarding reminder of the foundation we work hard to give our puppies. ❤️
From a young age, we introduce our puppies to everyday handling, grooming, nail trims, different experiences, and positive socialization. The goal isn’t simply to have a puppy who tolerates these things—it’s to help them grow into dogs who feel safe, confident, and comfortable being handled throughout their lives.
And yes… Stormfly absolutely has opinions! 😂 She can be a little dramatic and loves to express herself. But when it comes down to her nail trims, she is patient, cooperative, and obedient—even if she doesn’t necessarily approve 100% of the time. 😂
That confidence makes everyday care routines so much easier.
This is just one of the ways we work with our puppies, and that foundation continues with their families as they grow. Early, positive experiences really do matter. Teaching puppies that grooming, handling, and socialization can be safe and rewarding helps set them up for success long after they leave our home.
And because Stormfly is the bestest girl, she occasionally gets her nails painted, too. 💅🐾💕 She’s used to being handled carefully everywhere, from her ears all the way down to her paws!
This is the kind of everyday confidence we love to see in our puppies as they grow into happy, well-adjusted dogs. 🥰
Stormfly may have a flair for the drama, but she’s also proof that a good foundation really does make a difference. 🐶❤️

For those that have been anxiously awaiting on an update on the Potential Pairing of Stormfly & Rollo

As of today, Stormfly just got her X-rays done to be sent off to OFA, and Rollo will have his X-rays scheduled for August. If both receive good results, we plan to move forward with breeding on Stormfly's next heat cycle.

We're excited about this potential pairing and will continue to share updates as we move through the health testing process!

Meet Stormfly ✨

Stormfly is a 55 pound two year old F1B Shepadoodle with a loving, loyal, and easygoing temperament. She is the kind of dog who is happiest simply being with her family and furry friends, whether that means joining us on an outdoor adventure or relaxing at home by our side.

While she inherited much of her calm and thoughtful nature from her Standard Poodle father, she is every bit the devoted family dog. Stormfly is what many would call a "velcro dog" (if I'm sitting, she's sitting. If I'm moving, she's moving. If I'm breathing, she's probably supervising.) Personal space is simply not something she believes in when it comes to the people she loves (unless it's bed time 😂).

Stormfly is intelligent and always thinking. We often joke that she's a professional overthinker because if there's something to analyze, she's already thought about it five times. Her thoughtful nature makes her highly trainable and eager to learn. She has earned her Novice Trick Dog title through Do More With Your Dog at a early age, showcasing both her intelligence and willingness to work with her people.

One of Stormfly's most remarkable qualities is her nurturing spirit. Her gentle heart and nose led her to form an unlikely friendship with our rescue cat, Astrid that she found on our property. Stormfly has a way with cats and has warmly welcomed our newest rescue addition "kitten" into our family. From the very beginning at just 8 months old when her mom had her second litter Stormfly wanted to step in and help she has shown natural motherly instincts and a caring temperament that reminds us so much of her mama Rosebud.

When she's not keeping tabs on her family, Stormfly loves exploring the outdoors. Hiking with her humans, spending time with canine friends, and running alongside an e-bike are some of her favorite activities. She enjoys both adventure and companionship, making her a wonderful balance of playful, energetic, affection, and a great calm off switch.

Completion of all recommended health testing, including OFA hips, elbows and genetic screening will be completed before breeding. Stormfly is being considered as one of our future mama dogs looking to pass down her nurturing caring loyalty, and protective family dog nature.

Stormfly embodies the traits we value most: intelligence, devotion and loyalty, adaptability, protective nature, loving disposition, and a strong desire to please her humans. We are proud to have her as part of our program and look forward to seeing these wonderful qualities passed on to future generations.

107.5 pounds of intelligence, stability, and heart.

Rollo is a Shepadoodle whose greatest asset is not his size or appearance, but his exceptional temperament. A trained Psychiatric Service Dog and certified Alliance of Therapy Dogs therapy dog, Rollo regularly serves with the RSW WOOF Team (Watching Out Over Our Friends) at Southwest Florida International Airport, providing comfort and support to travelers, airport staff, veterans, first responders, and children.

In over 30 years of owning, training, and evaluating dogs, Rollo possesses one of the finest temperaments I have ever encountered. He is calm without being dull, confident without being pushy, affectionate without being needy, and social without being overwhelming. He has an incredible ability to read people and situations, adjusting his energy to meet the needs of those around him.

Rollo has spent years successfully working in busy public environments filled with crowds, noise, rolling luggage, wheelchairs, children, and the unpredictable nature of everyday life. His ability to remain steady, trustworthy, and engaged under pressure is what makes him such an outstanding service and therapy dog.

Highly intelligent, eager to please, and deeply connected to his people, Rollo embodies the qualities that have made the Shepadoodle such a beloved companion. Whether working, traveling, volunteering, or relaxing at home, he approaches life with the same gentle confidence and dependable nature.

It's been awhile since we've made an update and I've had a few people reach out recently asking about when or if we are going to have another litter of shepadoodles.

Well before we decide to breed again I want to see what we have for interest in a litter. I've had a lot of people ask if we will be breeding Rosebud again and producing f1b shepadoodles and the answer is no, she is already spayed and is living her best life at home with us and any misfits we bring home! Rosebud was our Foundation female that made Pups Add Life happen, and now it's her Daughters turn to shine and pass on her legacy.

We have Stormfly and Tulip both Rosebud's & Rusty Reds off spring. Stormfly is from our first litter (the HTTYD litter) and Tulip from the 2nd (botanical litter) they are both F1B shepadoodles that are prospective candidates in our program.

We are seriously considering the breeding of Stormfly f1b shepadoodle to Rollo (a wonderful f1 shepadoodle). This pairing would produce multigenerational shepadoodles making the percentage of their offspring 62.5% Poodle and 37.5% German Shepherd. I've wanted to bring back more of the German Shepherd in our line since I strongly believe they are incredible dogs and make the shepadoodle, well a shepadoodle. I have considered breeding straight back to a Shepherd to bring in more of the Shepard traits however I still want to keep more of the poodle coat to reduce the shedding. Besides the percentage of the mixed breed of the shepadoodle my goal hasn't changed and our biggest priority is producing socialized well-tempered healthy and structured dogs in our lines.

Born May 8th & 9th, 2024, these pups have brought so much joy, love, and happiness to their families. We truly cherish each and every one of them and are so grateful for the amazing families who love them so well.

Sam has spent his 2nd birthday doing some of the things he loves. He got a special treat of bacon with his breakfast He rode in the car with us to Tractor Supply and Petsense. We have taken walks and played fetch. Also, one of his favorite activities, he spent time chasing squirrels and then standing at the base of the tree trunk, wistfully staring upward.

Sam is laid back and wants to be together as much as possible, indoors and outdoors. When he wants to go out, he waits patiently at the door and does the same when he's ready to come in. If it's urgent or he feels like he has waited long enough, he gives one loud sharp bark for us to hurry up. He has trained us well.
