Fundraiser to benefit Erin Schroeder Paris
As most of you are aware as many of my FB friends are shared friends with Erin, she is going through a breast cancer journey. I was made aware of it back in February, as I believe a vast majority of us were. Why did I wait until now to announce a fundraiser for her? It was per her request. I know several people reached out to me wanting to know when I was going to start one, or why I haven’t started one. The answer is simple, Erin wanted to wait until she had more information on her up and coming surgery. Erin being the ever-thoughtful person, didn’t want to over estimate her healing time, and people send more help than would be necessary because she knows times are almost always tough for many people. She didn’t want to take advantage of people like that. So here is what we know:
Surgery date is August 26th
Potential lost time at work for the healing process: 4-6 weeks, potentially more but this is the average healing time
What are they doing: Removing breast tissue, and reconstruction of what fat and tissue remains
Erin will be down for the count for a while. Obviously, she will miss work, but she will also not be able to care for her collection. Thankfully her hubby, Andrew Paris and her daughters are amazing and will be helping her with house and gecko chores. Cancer just doesn’t affect one person’s life, it disrupts everyone around them…and que me trying to not crying at work…thanks Erin, ❤ you.
What can we do to help? We can help in several ways. We have a gofundme started for Erin if you wish to donate directly to her (you will find the link below). We have spoken with Morphmarket and have gotten the OK to run fundraising auctions again. So those of you who want to donate via an animal auction will receive your auction usage back, you simply need to contact them (I will have that info down below also). You can purchase off of Erin’s Amazon Wish List. Erin buys most of her supplements she needs through Amazon. So I had her comprise her list of items she could really use during her healing, along with her supplements (again that will be down below), and any snacks she loves. Erin could also use some fun button up style shirts for after her surgery as that is the recommended attire. Erin would like fun prints, she loves butterflies, animals, funny prints (someone please buy her a dino nugget shirt). She leans more on the girly side for colors, think purples, pinks, softer hues of other colors. She doesn’t oppose men’s shirts as long as they aren’t “manly”. However I do think if you could find a men’s shirt that looks like a hairy chest it would be hilarious…however she wouldn’t think it was as funny as I did and likely wouldn’t wear it. She is requesting 2x. If this is something you would like to donate, please reach out specifically to Erin, Seri J Dukart, or myself and we will get you her shipping info, we don’t want to post it in here. Of course, lastly for those who want to help but financially don’t have the means to do so, please share! Sharing this post, and the posts you see to help fundraise for Erin are a HUGE help. Without it people don’t realize what we are trying to accomplish, and gets us help from people who may not see our posts. We all know FB likes to hide posts on purpose. So one of the biggest helps is giving “likes” to the posts via a good emoji reaction like a heart or a care emoji, and giving it a short comment. These are what prompt FB to share the most into more people’s news feed as they appear to be “popular”. So please help me make Erin more popular than she already is!
Now the sappy part. If you don’t know Erin, you’re about to. Erin is such an amazing woman and friend. Her wisdom and caring for her friends and family around her make her one of the warmest people I have ever had the luxury of calling a friend. She has always been strong when you needed a helping hand, ever thoughtful and caring when you needed a sympathetic ear. One of the least judgmental people I have ever known, hence her nickname Sainty Erin. If there was ever a person to use as a role model, it is her. Dedicated to family, friends, her faith, and just seriously, one of the best human beings ever. Seriously, I count myself beyond lucky every day she puts up with my shenanigans! She has taught me so much, and has helped me grow as a person, to be more compassionate, and to not let things I can’t control essentially ruin my day.
