💔 Sad Update 💔
The update nobody wanted. Sweet Leia did not improve overnight, started to decline and ultimately was suffering. Alongside a clinical team the decision was made by the board to end her suffering and let her be at peace. With multiple doctor visits, consultations, diagnostic tests, different medications, etc we just couldn’t get to the root cause. The suspicion is a congenital birth defect but we may never know.
This one really hurts, and we wish so deeply that there was more that could have been done. It is truly one of the hardest parts of rescue.
We want to send a huge thank you to all of the veterinarians, staff, specialists, and everybody who helped us try to get answers for her.
Thank you to her incredible foster momma for loving her, giving her the best life, and ensuring her days were filled with joy. Thank you also to our medical foster for providing 24/7 ICU support from home after she was discharged from the hospital.
This baby girl was so incredibly loved. While our hearts are breaking, we are so thankful she experienced true joy and love in her life, even if it was cut short way too soon.
Rest easy, sweet Leia. You will never be forgotten. 🕊️✨🌈

🐾 UPDATE ON SWEET GIRL LEIA 🐾
Our sweet angel Leia has been released from the hospital because she was showing some initial signs of improvement, and she is now resting with her incredible medical foster family.
However, as it often goes with these tough medical journeys, it’s been one step forward and one step back. Sadly, her progress has plateaued and she is no longer continuing to improve. 💔
Where things stand right now:
She is stable, which we are incredibly grateful for.
We still do not know 100% what is going on. We have spoken with multiple veterinarians and ran numerous diagnostics and tests, but it has been a deeply frustrating puzzle for us and the medical teams.
She isn't worsening, but she isn't getting better either. We aren't giving up hope! We are starting her on a brand-new regimen of medications tonight, and we are praying with everything we have that these finally do the trick.
Being in a loving medical foster home is exactly what she needs right now while we navigate this. Please, please keep your paws crossed, send all your love, and keep this sweet girl in your thoughts. We need to see those signs of improvement soon. 🐕❤️

• Dog Status: She does well with other dogs, but while she builds up her confidence and settles into a routine, she needs to be the only dog in the home. She wants all your attention for herself right now (and honestly, she deserves to be spoiled!).
• Cat Status: Unknown (she hasn't been tested with cats yet).
• Personality: An absolute love who just needs a little time and patience to show you her truest, most confident self.

🐾 Rescue Life: The Ultimate Roller Coaster 🐾
If you’ve noticed we’ve been a little quiet on socials lately, it’s because rescue life has been a whirlwind of high highs and low lows behind the scenes. It takes hundreds of phone calls, texts, and endless vet appointments to keep this operation running, and we have a lot to catch you up on.
Here is a little sneak peek into what’s been happening:
🎉 THE BEST UPDATE: Charlie! ❤️
This sweet boy underwent a CT scan, spinal tap, and a battery of other tests last week. The doctor suspects a severe infection, and Charlie was started on a high-dose antibiotic protocol.
The amazing news? He is doing SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! 🙌
While we are still waiting on final confirmation of the exact infection, his current medical plan is working wonders and he has improved tremendously. He had more bloodwork done today, so please keep your paws crossed for continued good news! 🐾🤞
💔 HEARTBREAK & PRAYERS: Leia
Our sweet angel Leia is not doing well. On Saturday, she was her usual, bouncy puppy self. By Sunday, she started showing signs of not feeling well, and things have progressed incredibly fast.
🏥 Current Status: Leia is currently hospitalized and being monitored overnight. We are not entirely sure what is happening yet, other than the fact that she is very, very sick. We are praying hard that she pulls through this. Please keep her in your thoughts tonight. 🥺❤️
