Copied from a friend's post. Says it all.
Enough is enough. This is how utterly brain washed our society is.
People are up in arms over cropping and docking, saying it causes suffering it’s damaging and the dogs ‘ahem never fully recover’. Most have never seen it done, never owned a cropped puppy but they see what they assume are ‘bandages’ and think boo boo, boo boo = pain and pain = suffering.
Tail dock neuroma yes it does happen, I can find zero stats on percentages and typically if performed by a skilled Vet or breeder the risks would go down.
Cropping when done by a trained highly skilled vet has zero long term effects on the dog.
Let us look at spay and neuter (let’s just touch on some of the peer reviewed studies shall we?)
Significantly increased risk of osteosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma, lymphoma, and even mast cell tumours.
As well they have found that early spay and neuter is linked to sound phobias (you know, those dogs that want to crawl out of their own skin every time a car back fires or even better your neighbor shoots off some fireworks).
Early spay and neuter has been linked to changes in the skeletal structure causing issues such as elbow dysplasia, and hip dysplasia.
S/N has been linked to issues with the endocrine system and is suspected of being a major cause of hypothyroidism.
Soooooo the long and the short is that it’s okay to cause suffering in an animal so long as it feeds into the animal rights (not animal welfare) agenda.
Let’s touch on obesity! It is cruel to crop and dock, but NOT to let a dog walk around 10-20-30 lbs overweight. Seriously?
Over vaccinations, linked to many different issues but let’s touch on autoimmune disorder... but that’s not cruel or causing the animal to suffer?
Over grown nails, you know the ones where the toes are twisted to the side the dog is rocked back on their pasterns... some vets will simply state The dog quicks are long and nothing can change that (morons) this too isn’t considered cruel or to cause suffering.
Let’s set this straight! I don’t personally care what YOUR personal opinion on cropping and docking is. I care what my breeder thinks, I care what the highly skilled veterinarian In good standing who performed the procedures thinks. Those are the opinions that matter to me. If you’re going to stand in front of me and tell me cropping and docking is not required, it is cruel, causes suffering.. then You are simply cherry picking which elective surgery you oppose or that simply offends your delicate I’m a boohoo crybaby sensibilities. Spay and neuter IS NOT, I repeat is not required (as proven by different countries).
What is required is responsible pet ownership. People have to stop feeding into the animal rights agenda. Animal rights activists end goal is to END pet ownership completely. So before you have a knee jerk reaction, think about the whole picture, not just the tiny little bit of info you’re being spoon fed to react to!
