✨️❤️💲Happy $5 Friday!💲❤️✨️

This we are asking for donations to help pay for our upcoming vet visits! Dandy's sedated teeth trim is scheduled in less than two weeks and is estimated at around $450. We also have Colby Jack plus Ben & Jerry's neuters and Reign's vet visit next week. Colby Jack's neuter will be at our regular vet instead of the low cost vet due to him needing carefully monitored. Our vet fund is getting dangerously low again since trying to save Honey Bee and getting Colby's CT scan, so we desperately need to replenish it in order to continue saving more animals.

Consider skipping your daily McDonald's sandwich or coffee to help make a huge difference in the lives of pets today! No donation is too small. Of course, do not put yourself in a bad place by donating if you can't right now. We are thankful for all the support you all have given us!

You can also support us by contributing to two fundraisers we have going on! We have personalized pet notecards for sale and merch on our Bonfire right now. 😄

Pumpkin passed away with Piada by her side last Saturday night. 💔🐹

I had a wedding to attend last Saturday and she was doing okay before I left but I came home to her in her forever sleep. Pumpkin has been battling heart failure for many months now. I thought when her best friend, Peach, passed away that we would loose her soon too, but I put her with little baby Piada who had just come in and it brought some spark back into her life. Lately she's been having more bad days but had kept improving when injectable heart medications were given. It's not too big of a surprise she was taken so fast since heart failure can take them in a split second, but Saturday wasn't one of those days that I thought it might happen.

Pumpkin was a sanctuary guinea pig who had been with us since towards the beginning of our rescue being established. Her and her sister, Peach, were surrendered to us and Peach had a persistent jaw abcess that we finally got under control after many months. They were bounced around to different fosters and were eventually adopted which lasted about a year before they were surrendered back to us once again. When they arrived back to us, Peach was diagnosed with a uterine tumor which ultimately took her life and Pumpkin was diagnosed with heart disease and failure. When they came back, we made a promise to them that they would never be bounced around again and my home would be their forever sanctuary home.

Pumpkin was probably the most people friendly guinea pig I've ever met. She had no fear when it came to human interactions and would be excited for her daily medications twice a day since it meant more attention. She loved her meds so much that she would play tug of war with the syringe. She helped bring Piada out of her shy little shell and helped her realize people aren't so scary. Pumpkin loved head scratches and was always so incredibly excited for snackies! She will be deeply missed by our rescue.

Please keep her friend, Piada, in your thoughts while she grieves such an amazing friend. We have a new female coming in this week and we will try to pair the two asap so she doesn't need to be alone.

Rest in peace, sweet Pumpkin 🩷

Three of our pets had vet visits today.🩺

🧡 Chimichanga the chinchilla is overall a healthy boy! He has some hair loss on his belly and rear that the vet thinks is from barbering due to stress but we will treat him with revolution just to be safe. She estimates him to be roughly 6-12 years old which seems like a large range but chinchillas can live to be 20 years old. His teeth look good along with everything else so hopefully his hair will grow in and he will be all good to be placed up for adoption in the next month or so.

🩵 Gojo, our young rabbit who was attacked by a dog, overall looks good but he is painful on his front right leg. There were no fractures on x-ray so we think its a soft tissue injury. He has some bite wounds on his ears and one on his right shoulder along with some swelling so we think the pain is radiating from his right shoulder. We will keep an eye on it and keep him in a simple cage so he can focus on healing.

🩷 Dandelion, the rabbit, has been acting "off", so we got her evaluated today. There was nothing screaming "I'm sick" but she never runs up to the front of the cage for food and pets, which can always be a red flag. Overall, she looks good but her teeth do look like they need trimmed so we will be scheduling a dental trim soon and holding off on her adoption. We also got full body x-rays and are sending out bloodwork to make sure there's nothing else we are missing. She was positive for coccidia last week so she is also on dewormer. Hopefully, the dental is all she needs and she can start feeling herself again! She's a big hay eater so we hope she can maintain her teeth after this.

Their total today at Montgomery Animal Hospital was $166 if anyone would like to donate towards their care. We have two more vet appts scheduled for Thursday, plus now we know Dandy needs a dental so we could really use some donations!
We are getting very low on funds.

Good vets will always say NO to declawing! Consider nail caps if they are a problem for you. If you are worried about scratching before getting a cat, try fostering first and if the nails are an inconvenience, please refrain from adopting a cat. Life without fingertips for a species who walks on the tips of their toes and shows emotion and behaviors through the use of them is a life filled with pain and anxiety!

We do not support declawing but we get a lot of calls asking if we will. As an alternative, we offer sedated nail cap application. Nail caps can be purchased over the counter at most pet stores but can be difficult to apply correctly to struggling cats. We will apply them for you under sedation to take the stress away from the owners and the cats. They generally last between 3-6 months depending on the activity of the cat and health of the nails

Hello, Laura here! 👋🏼

Happy “Super Cute Saturday”! Yes, it’s already Saturday and time to pause your weekend for another one of our cute, adoptable animals!

This Saturday I want to share our super adorable and super small robo hamster, Robotnik! Robotnik is a classic Roborovski hamster or “robo” hamster; He is small. He is cute. He is super fast! He is very friendly but he has things to do! A wheel to run on! Food to forage! And burrows to be made! These are top priorities in his life but a short cuddle and a snack once in a while will always be appreciated. If you’d like to give Robotnik a home and watch this fun boy’s busy lifestyle, please fill out an application. 🙂

If you are interested in adopting Robotnik, please fill out our small pet adoption application:

If you are not able to adopt, please share this post so we can get this sweet boy more exposure to find his perfect home!

Our sweet baby Colby Jack had his CT scan this morning. 🐱
My eyes were on my phone all morning until I got the call that he was okay. He's now 9 months old and has never been put under anesthesia due to his lung deformity. This scan will help us determine what exactly is going on with his lung and if surgery to remove a lung lobe or fix something is possible. He's been doing pretty well as of recently but this valuable information will help us treat him in the future, especially if he ever develops a severe respiratory infection or starts having respiratory distress.
Now that we know he did okay with the anesthetics, we can schedule his (much needed) neuter!
We should get results back on his scan within the next few weeks.

His CT scan today was roughly $1,400 if anyone would like to contribute to his care.
Thank you to Animal Eye Institute for taking care of him!

Poor little Naomi had an incident yesterday where she aspirated food.😞 We rushed her to the vet where they gave ger injectable antibiotics, medications to help her breath better and she was on oxygen all day yesterday. Her x-rays looked pretty bad and she was really struggling yesterday but she seems to be breathing better today. Last night her fever was up to 104°F and this morning we are back down to 100°F. If she was the same or worse today, we were planning on taking her back in for oxygen, but she's eating and comfortable this morning so we are going to monitor. If she goes downhill again, she may need to be taken to VEG, so we are asking for donations for potiental emergency care.
She's currently on two antibiotics and meloxicam for fever and discomfort.
Keep little Naomi in your thoughts today and consider a $5 Friday donation to help with her care!

Meet baby Gojo! 🥰
This sweet little boy was an owner surrender yesterday. We are now at capacity for rabbits until we have some adopted out, but we couldn't let this little boy down. He is only about 3-4 months old and 2lbs. He was attacked twice by the dog he was sharing his home with so his owner knew he needed to go somewhere safe where his injuries could be carefully monitored. Luckily, it seems like he just has superficial wounds on his ears and neck. X-rays didn't show any fractures or internal injuries. He is currently on pain medication and antibiotics until he sees our vet on Tuesday for a more in depth evaluation. He is also in a smaller cage so he can focus on healing for the time being. He definitely seems sore and I can't tell if he's mentally appropriate or just traumatized. Once he heals and gets neutered, he will need to go to a home without any dogs, so he never has to re-live his past trauma.

We have five vet visits coming up next week plus Colby Jack is getting his CT scan this morning, so if you'd like to donate, it would be much appreciated!

This beautiful girl was just caught by two amazing members of the community! ❤️🐰

She was a stray who had been wondering around outside for at least three days. Oh, and it's been storming and raining buckets the last couple days. Last night it was storming and thundering so loud that the ground was shaking. Kara and her husband spent 2 hours in the pouring rain today trying to catch this baby and their efforts weren't for nothing. They caught her right before the sun began to set and reached out to us to take her in. Anyone who knows anything about rabbits knows a wet rabbit is a very risky situation. They can get hypothermia very quickly. The last few days have been warm but tonight, the temps are dropping again. Not only was she at risk of hypothermia, but she also had hawks circling around overhead. It was a very scary situation. Overall, she looks to be in pretty good shape other than the many ticks that are currently covering her ears. After she has some time to properly dry off and decompress, I'll apply some revolution to get rid of all those annoying parasites. We will be making a vet appointment for her soon to make sure she is healthy and then we will set up her spay.

What should we name this sweet girl? Maybe something weather related? ⛈️
