Huge thank you to our recent Amazon donor, Stacie Hecht! You help keep our animals fed, enriched, and happy.๐Ÿฉท The rabbits are already putting the toys to good use!
We are most in need of timothy hay, adult oxbow rabbit pellets, enrichment like hay mats & forage, and we are out of aspen shavings if anyone would like to donate. We are also in desperate need of one or two air purifiers if you are feeling extra generous!

Just like many animals in shelter situations, Juniper is showing signs of stress.๐Ÿ’” Part of it is that she needs spayed to help her hormones calm down, but it's also more than that. She wants a bigger pen to run around in, time outside her cage, and individual attention. It's hard to give each pet individual attention when you have so many. I've been trying to spend extra time with her outside her cage so she can run around, but I still feel like it's not enough. She could REALLY use a more individual foster home or foster-to-adopt home. Once she's spayed, she will be able to find a permanent home, but until then, she needs extra attention. She also has a bit of an attitude issue, but I feel that's mostly because she's not spayed and contained most of the time.
Most of our pets are content in their current situation, and it's important to realize when they are not anymore.
Would anyone like to spend some time with her this summer?โ˜€๏ธ Even if it's for a few weeks, getting out of the house and into a more independent foster would bring her so much joy, I know it! ๐Ÿฉท

Meet Tom and Sawyer! These boys are estimated to be about 1-2 years old and are easygoing little guys. Tom is white with tan over his eyes and is quite the chonk. He is actually overweight to the point he has trouble grooming his rear end, so he might need butt baths and grooming to help him keep clean. He's a lazy boy and likes taking a nap just about anywhere and loves to be pet.
Sawyer is a tricolor abyssinian and is more of a normal weight. He's more active and playful than Tom but equally as cute and friendly.
They came from a situation where the owners child was trying to harm them, so we got them checked out by the vet, and they have a clean bill of health (thankfully!)

This is the whole point ๐Ÿฅฐ seeing pets who have had a hard life and months in the rescue, finally end up in a happy, loving home ๐Ÿ’™ Thunder made it home to Florida and he's going to be so happy for the rest of his life!
He started out in the rescue, infested with mites and so scared, and now he's finally made it to where he deserves to be.

We really need to get our bill at Warm Animal Hospital under control so we are planning on running an auction at the end of July-early August to raise money specifically to pay off our bill that is currently over $900!
Any extra money raised will be saved for future vet bills. Our goal is going to be about $1,000!
We are looking for donations of items such as art, handmade items, crochet items, trinkets, giftcards, gift baskets, really anything you can think of that people might be interested in.
ALL proceeds will go towards paying off our vet bills from our rescue animals!
The auction will be held on our Facebook group, Happy Horizon's Summer Auction 2025 so head on over and give us a follow so you don't miss anything! ๐Ÿ–

It's hard to believe Indigo and Sage are almost 5 weeks old already ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’œ Peony is still pretty timid and easily spooked, but I can't say the same about her babies. Nothing bothers them much, and they are so sweet and love attention. Peony has been such a great mother and it shows with how laid back and comfortable her babies are.

We rescued a very sweet boy today ๐Ÿ’™
I saw an ad for a syrian hamster in a 140sq inch wire cage, and I knew we had to help him. I was able to pick him up without the cage, and when she opened the cage, he literally dove into my travel carrier because he wanted out so bad. The cage was the tiniest cage i've seen in a while. There were no hides, no wheel, no food or water, and all bedding was under wire floors, so he was literally walking and sleeping on wire. He was so frantic and monkey barring. It was heartbreaking.
On the ride home, as I watched him burrowing in his new bedding, I felt so thankful we were able to save this little life from a lifetime in a wire box.
Upon arrival, he has hair missing on his nose due to bar biting but otherwise looks healthy. He's estimated to be about 6 months old.
He was scared at first but warmed up to me quickly and has been running on his new wheel since he's been home.
We hope to put this baby up for adoption soon! ๐Ÿน
