📸 School Show Success!
What an amazing day sharing the world of reptiles with students! Today, my giant Burmese python was one of the stars of the show, giving everyone a chance to see just how incredible these misunderstood animals really are.
There's nothing better than watching curiosity replace fear as students learn about conservation, responsible animal care, and the important role reptiles play in our world. From questions about size and diet to learning how snakes sense their environment, this group was fantastic!
A huge thank you to the school, staff, and students for welcoming Red's Reptiles today. Educational programs like these help inspire the next generation of animal lovers, scientists, and conservationists.

Things have been a little quiet on our page lately… but behind the scenes at Red’s Reptiles things have been BUSY in the best way possible! 🐍🦎🐢

We’ve been: ✨ Caring for and working with our amazing animal ambassadors
✨ Booking school shows, parties, and educational events
✨ Preparing for the upcoming Sierra Valley Reptile Expo
✨ Working on new projects, upgrades, and fun surprises for all of you
✨ Spending extra hands-on time with the reptiles (they definitely demand attention 😄)

Sometimes social media takes a backseat when real-life animal care and community events come first — but we’re still here, still growing, and more excited than ever for what’s ahead!

Meet the GIANT of the gecko world… the Leachie Gecko! 🌿🦎
Also known as the New Caledonian Giant Gecko, these incredible reptiles are the largest geckos on Earth 😳
Fun Facts: • They can grow up to 12–14 inches long
• Masters of camouflage — they look just like tree bark
• Unlike most reptiles, they can make grumbling, barking, and even squeaking sounds!
• Sticky toes = expert climbers
• They’re strong — and yes… they’ve got a surprisingly powerful bite!
Leachies are native to New Caledonia, where they spend most of their lives in trees, blending in and coming out at night
They may look tough, but each one has its own personality — some are chill, some are a little spicy
