Now is a great time to adopt your new best friend! The Chico animal shelter (and many shelters in your area) is offering free adoptions to get these deserving dogs (and cats) out of the shelter and into loving forever homes. Please consider these amazing dogs to be a part of your family.

Yesterday was the first day of our adoption special and no one came😭
No one even dropped by just to look 😭

As a reminder, now through Monday, December 22nd, adoption fees are waived on all animals who have been waiting for a home for over two months!
We would LOVE for some of our longer-term pets to find their forever homes for the holidays.

Remember, for the remainder of this week (today through Saturday. (Saturday by appointment only)), when you come in to find your new best friend, make a monetary donation, and we will waive adoption fees. (Qualified homes only).

Kennel visitation is open today and tomorrow from 10:30 - noon and 1:00 pm through 4:30 pm. We are open by appointment only on Saturdays. Call by 4 pm Friday to make an appointment for a Saturday adoption tour.

Today is GivingTuesday!
We would love to help more dogs in need. 100% of money raised is used for surgery, vaccinations, transport, food, and supplies for every dog in our care. We personally foster each dog in a home environment with other dogs to ease them out of a shelter environment to decompress and to get them ready for their forever home. Thank you so much for any amount that you have to give to their care. This photo is of Dennis and Freida who we pulled from overcrowded shelters in the Los Angeles area and have now found loving forever homes. ❤️

This girl is so special and amazing. If you are looking for a lap dog that will snuggle into your neck and love on you, she is your girl. She is around three years old, 10 lbs, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and the perfect companion. She gets along well with other dogs but really wants to be with her person. Another happy forever home for miss Poppy! She is all healed up from her dental surgery and has a new pep in her step with Kathleen and her forever family! So many people and dogs in this amazing household to love on her every day. We love you, Poppy!

Congratulations to Panda (now Pepper) and her new family! She even gets a new sister to play with! We are over the moon for this sweet girl and her loving parents, Tammy and Ray! Her new Dad fell in love with her immediately and bonded right away. We are so excited about her forever chapter in life. We love you, Panda (Pepper)! ❤️

We extend our sincerest gratitude to all donors who contributed to our fundraising efforts, enabling Poppy to undergo a crucial dental surgery to extract and clean her 15-year-old teeth, thereby ensuring she can live the remainder of her life free from pain. The procedure was particularly high-risk due to her advanced age, low weight (under 5 lbs), and pre-existing heart murmur, which understandably caused significant apprehension. Fortunately, Poppy successfully navigated the surgery and has resumed eating with gusto, ultimately leading to her adoption by her foster family (as seen in the photos). She is indeed a fortunate pup to have secured a loving home for the rest of her life. Upon initial observation at the shelter by us, it was evident that she required immediate attention. Thanks to your generous support, Poppy will now live a pain-free life surrounded by love and care. We express our deepest gratitude to each of you. We love you, Poppy! ❤️

Skipper just wanted to remind you what a good boy he is. He is so fun with lots of spark and joy that will put a smile on your face everyday. We still are in shock that he has 0 interest, even though he's been the best boy with all dogs and people he's met. In fact, everyone falls in love with him the moment they meet him. He loves to play and run around so a secure fence is something he'd love. He doesn't need other dogs but can live with all types of dogs.
