Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program (“CRISP”) provides free services to help Chicago pet owners keep their pets rather than surrendering them.

Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program (“CRISP”) provides low or no-cost services to help Chicago pet owners keep their pets rather than surrendering them to the city shelter. Whether you’re moving, your landlord doesn’t allow pets, or the cost of pet maintenance is too high, taking your pet to the Chicago municipal shelter (Chicago Animal Care and Control or “CACC”) isn’t your only o

ption. And if we can’t help you find a way to keep your pet, our network of Chicago dog and cat lovers will help you place them immediately with a rescue group or no-kill shelter to bypass the city shelter completely.

Ready for some good news?

We're back.

Sweet Kira here is our first client in months. She came down with parvo after her brother passed away from it, and her dad needed help to get her the treatment she urgently needed.

Thankfully Kira's dad was referred to us, and she became our comeback kid. Kira beat parvo and now she's back home, where she belongs.

The last year has been a wild ride, and we're going to tell you all about it. Plus we have news on how to refer clients to us. That's all coming very soon.

Hello Chicago!

We are still here, and to prove it we held our first vaccine clinic of the year serving 297 dogs!

Special thanks to Mutts of the Midway for leading the charge in partnership with Cook County Animal and Rabies Control. We're so grateful to be able to provide free or low cost services to pet owners who love their pets.

Huge thank you to all the veterinarians and vet techs that made the day possible, the Midway Chamber of Commerce for hosting, Stunod's Pizzeria for feeding our volunteers, and all the volunteers who showed up to make it happen!

🔴 FREE PET CLINIC 🔴

It’s our first vaccine clinic of 2025! Help spread the word about this FREE vaccine and microchip clinic. We will be visiting Chicago’s Garfield Ridge neighborhood on May 31st from 10 am - 2 pm and are excited to help dogs with free vaccines, microchips, leashes, collars, and harnesses.

***Community member in need!***

We have someone, and their two bonded cats Marcy and Cube, who need housing for May and June. They are able to pay up to $1k (ideally less) per month.

If they cannot find cat friendly housing they are also searching for a temp foster for the cats for those two months until they move into their permanent housing.

Our Ugly Sweater Party is back!!!!

Dust off that ugly holiday sweater you’ve been looking for an excuse to wear and head over to on December 16th from 7-9 pm for an evening benefiting Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program (CRISP).

Your ticket includes one free raffle ticket and one free 8 ounce lager. Proceeds from this event will help CRISP fund much needed vaccine and microchip clinics in 2025.

Friends,

It's been one year since our time at the city shelter came to an end. In the past year we have taken countless referrals of pets needing help, and watched countless stray animals with no identification get stuck in the city shelter. We knew that our work could not end, but what was next for us?

After the City of Chicago recently announced a budget freeze, which meant a stop for Chicago Animal Care & Control's vaccine clinics, we made a decision.

In 2025 CRISP will shift to providing free and low cost vaccines and microchips in the Chicago neighborhoods needing it most. We will continue to provide free veterinary care to any client from our clinics in urgent need of help and we pledge to focus on neighborhoods who need us most.

It's been our pleasure to serve Chicago residents and their pets in 2016, and we're looking forward to a year of keeping pets healthy and in their homes.

Today we serviced a new neighborhood in a new way and the day could not have been any better.

Our CRISP volunteers offered free microchips, vaccines, leashes, collars and harnesses to the residents of Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood via walk-up AND drive-through options. In all, we helped 210 dogs in just four hours.

Special thanks to 7th Ward Alderman Greg Mitchell for working with us in order to provide this much needed clinic to an area that has not been serviced this way in years.

We could not have made it through the day without the help of all the dedicated volunteers from the rescue groups who make up this invaluable coalition (, , , ).

While animal control eliminates these vital vaccine/microchip clinics, CRISP will step up to add more in 2025. As we saw today, the residents of Chicago need us and we will continue to be there for them.

We have our FREE vaccine/microchip clinic happening this Saturday (10/26) from 10 am - 2 pm in the South Shore neighborhood. Residents will also have access to free leashes, collars, harnesses, and prevention for their dogs.

Meet Crespo, a cherished member of his family. Recently, Crespo experienced difficulties with urination, a potentially serious condition that needed prompt attention. We consulted with our trusted partners at Countryside Veterinary Center, where Crespo was diagnosed with a severe urinary tract infection (UTI). Thanks to their expert care and treatment, Crespo is already feeling better and is now back at home, helping to care for his baby sister.
